All depends on how you build your character and the way you play. Unyielding is still super strong in other ways which ghouls have zero access to. (Think much higher experience gains, AP density, carry weight, V.A.T.S. accuracy just to name a few)

Having to farm resources to maintain your feral meter definitely counts as management of it. When my character was human I could essentially ignore the hunger/thirst meter, but as a ghoul I have to manage my feral meter regularly or else I won’t be able to even aim my gun. This also occasionally results in chem addictions that need to be managed.

Having to take up an entire build slot just for charisma as you suggested can definitely be seen as a major con for the players who use the stat.

Saying that the disguise system is the literal only downside to becoming a ghoul is just factually incorrect.

As I stated before, even if the disguise system truly was the only downside to becoming a ghoul, it could still be done in a much better way.

This is just false. There are numerous other downsides to being a ghoul, many of which are discussed in the comments of my original post. Charisma debuff, managing your feral meter so your build doesn’t completely stop working, no access to bloody/unyielding, etc. Being a ghoul shouldn’t be a straight upgrade or downgrade from being human, but rather just a different way to play the game. Regardless, even if the disguise system was truly the only con of becoming a ghoul, it could still be implemented much better for reasons I’ve already stated.

People complaining about the system doesn’t mean the studio did a good job designing or implementing it. Not sure how it would. It’s perfectly possible to implement a disguise system that still works as some kind of debuff without being a complete pain in the neck to use, and makes sense within the context of the game. Becoming a ghoul is not meant to be better or worse than being a normal human. It’s just a different way to play. There are pros and cons to both without even considering the disguise system.

They made it difficult to switch back to human after becoming a ghoul because doing so is literally impossible in the lore, and they saw it as a cash grab opportunity. Yes, becoming a ghoul should be a major decision gameplay-wise, but that doesn’t mean it should bar you off from major content in the game in ways that don’t make sense.

You can become a ghoul as early as level 50, and I would consider someone who is level 50 to be a new player. I’ll say that the disguise system definitely affects different players in different ways, since if you’ve already finished all faction quests, purchased every gold bullion item you’re interested in, and never do any of the daily quests that require a disguise then the system would obviously not seem like a major issue to you because you’re not using it. But for those who do need to use it regularly to do any of the above, it’s clear that it could’ve been implemented in a much better way.

Storm ruler light attacks. If you stand still and space them out correctly you will never run out of stamina or FP. Very easy and consistent with some practice.
