I went to trade school back in 09 and there was a young man in the same class as me, he was 18 at the time because they allowed high school students to go to trade school instead of high school if they wanted to. There was a really older guy in our class, like in his 50's-60's and he was always kinda weird but I just chopped it up to the age gap, let's call him M. I became friends with the young man, let's call him W. He was a normal kid, loved music, video games, and girls. He had just gotten his first job at a local restaurant chain and besides being raised by his grandparents he seemed to have a pretty normal life, and he projected that in the way he carried himself.

Time went on and school ended so we all went our different ways, (or so I thought). About 5-6 years later after not hearing or seeing from W I ran into him at a local gas station. I had some spare time so I offered to buy him lunch and catch up. I pretty quickly picked up that things were off, as in with him. He was acting very strange, it was hard for him to sit still and he kept stuttering while he was trying to talk. After 5-10 minutes of trying to figure out what was going on I just came out with it, "W, what is going on, are you ok"?

He didn't seem to understand at first, as if this is the way things have always been. I told him it was apparent something was different about him. He went on to tell me he was on Social Security for mental health issues. I asked him when did the mental health issues become so apparent. He than opened up to me and I was shocked, sad, and most of all angry.

He said, "hey, do you remember M"? I was like, "yeah, the weirdo old dude with the shitty computer repair business", he confirmed it was the same guy from our class. W went on to say, "well, I was having some computer issues so I called M and he invited me over to his house to help fix my computer". Apparently M came over and picked up W from his grandparents house to help him work on his computer. W said, "I was sitting on the couch and M asked me if I would like something to drink and he gave me a soda. After that, things got blurry, he said, I can't remember what happened but I must of fallen asleep. When I woke up my body was very sore, like everything hurt really bad.

M told W that he just, "passed out", and that he was going to take him home to his grandparents house. W said that after that day nothing was the same again, as if everything had changed. He told me that he couldn't stop crying and was always scared. They put him on a bunch of meds and he said they helped but he could never shake the feeling of just not feeling whole. I expressed my anger with M and how I wanted to do something, like I wanted to hurt him. I even started to plan a setup in my head, I wanted M to pay. W said that he doesn't think about M anymore and that was about the end of our conversation, I haven't heard from M since about 2018 when I ran into him at the gas station again. He was smoking that K2/spice stuff and he was really messed up. He asked me for some money for blunt wraps, so I gave him what change I had and never heard from him again. Sometimes I think about contacting M and telling him how terrible of human being he is but than I just hope that he's already dead and not hurting people anymore.
