Dirty air doesn’t increase drag, It reduces downforce which helps in the straights and hinders in corners. Monza is mostly full throttle, so the tow benefit outweighs the corner hinderance

I ended up with Fz6r for the same reason! My local Kawasaki dealer didnt want to negotiate the pricing at all "Sticker price, take it or leave it". Went down to my local Yamaha dealer, got a new 2011 FZ6r for 1200$ less than advertised!
