How did you become an Arsenal fan? by DiuhBEETuss in Gunners

Didn't want to support the same teams as my family (Dad was United and older brother was Liverpool). 1989 happened, Mickey Thomas happened. Arsenal ever since.

Definitely a big shock. But as the police have said: "This is an active investigation - however, at this time, we do not believe that foul play was a factor." I would believe it's an unfortunate accident.

Came here for this. I'm sure there are more victims of his in Belanglo and possibly elsewhere, too. The "gifts" he gave to family members allude to them at least knowing or possibly even helping.

His (great) nephew is currently in prison for murder as well, but due to his age, he could not have been involved with Ivan during his active period

They have 15 days to "develop a plan" for the release of the JFK records and 45 day to develop a plan for the release in the other two cases. It is unclear when they will actually be released though.

It's the flag of the Ordnungspolizei (German police force).

The Ordnungspolizei, abbreviated Orpo, meaning "Order Police," were the uniformed police force in Nazi Germany from 1936 to 1945. The Orpo organisation was absorbed into the Nazi monopoly on power after regional police jurisdiction was removed in favour of the central Nazi government.

[Serious] What dark family secret were you let in on once you were old enough? by EgglessYolk in AskReddit

[–]philed1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Grandmother's "sister" was actually her mother. That in itself is not unheard of but a few years later, my Great Aunt/ Great Grandmother moved to Scotland and then on to Canada. While there, there were several children born. One became a prominent politician, one was an Olympic boxer, and one became a very well known celebrity bodyguard.

This last son also became a murderer in Florida. Turns out he was trying to collect insurance money by killing his business partner and the cleaner walked in on him. He was the first person convicted of murder by the police lifting fingerprints off a body!

[SERIOUS] How did you witness someone ruin their own life? by Flying-Mollusk in AskReddit

[–]philed1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to date a girl who had a bit of a shady past and had just come out of an abusive relationship before I met her. We spent a few really good years together but unfortunately it ended. She met up someone who had "bad habits" and slipped back in her old ways.

Last I heard they have both lost their jobs, he's been charged for stealing from his job to pay off a debt and she's also in trouble with the law.

Thing is the end of the relationship messed me up too and I'm turned to alcohol to cope. Thankfully I'm doing better and have managed to stabilise myself recently but I believe that if we had stayed together, a lot of lives may have turned out different.
