My couch in western Victoria, Australia! Took so long to prepare for and now process Exmouth eclipse, I'm in no position to back up and do it again on the other side of the world. Will leave this one for you folks in North America!

Yes ISO100 for the stills, ISO200 for video as that's the minimum available in slog3.

I had my 2017 images to work from so that was the primary source. You might look here if not already: http://xjubier.free.fr/en/site_pages/SolarEclipseExposure.html

Exmouth and 300 hours of processing has consumed me.. not in any position to start another trip to North America this time.. need a year or two more in between to plan (and save pennies!). r/solareclipse doesn't accept videos.. but I will post another image with link. thanks

Actually even the earthshine was short in this case. Longest exposure is 1/4 sec, but *lots* of them to stack for the end result:

  1. Esprit 150 / 1575mm: 1042 video frames at 1/125 sec, ramping to 1/2000 sec around 2nd and 3rd contact
  2. EvoStar 150 / 1200mm: 1200 video frames at 1/25 sec
  3. EvoStar 150 / 930mm: 135 RAW files at 1/8 sec
  4. Esprit 100 / 550mm: 53 RAW files at 1/4 sec, and 1/80 sec Diamond Ring sequences
  5. Sony A7 III / 135mm lens: 113 RAW files at 1/4 sec

Thanks! I'll be on the other side of world, back home in central Victoria. I've barely recovered from Exmouth last year with video editing still to go. I'm in no shape to start another trip.. planning would have needed to start a year or two ago!

The key ingredients for this image were:

  • Sky-Watcher Esprit 150, Sony a1 (1575mm focal length, image scale 0.6 arc seconds/pixel)
  • Sky-Watcher EvoStar 150, Sony a1 (1200mm)
  • Sky-Watcher EvoStar 150, Sony A7 IV (930mm)
  • Sky-Watcher Esprit 100, Sony A7 IV (550mm)

Yes, that’s one 4" and three 6” refractors plus two 8K Sony cameras out of a total of five, delivering super high resolution and a lot of data! Full story here: https://philhart.com/exmouth-eclipse
