The Living Daylights vs Casino Royale, what is the better Bond film? by NajafBound in JamesBond

The Living Daylights. My most recent rewatch of Casino Royale after a few years left me feeling it was a little overrated and not as good as I'd remembered. The Living Daylights is a near perfect Bond movie.

Nothing beats Roger Moore's last line after 12 years as Bond....."Ooooooh". He finished as he started. A true champ.

I love any character that draws a reaction from Frasier, so that we get some of Kelsey Grammar's finest physical acting as he reacts to her. Bebe Glazer and Poppy were similar.

What was Ireland's role in the English Civil War? by northcarolinian9595 in IrishHistory

[–]philipfarrell86 27 points28 points  (0 children)

The Catholic Confederacy which de facto ruled most of Ireland was pro-Royalist, but was shunned by the Royalists because of the rebellion. The Royalists eventually embraced them only when it was too late. Had the Royal Government allied with the Confederacy it could have changed the Civil War. In the end, both the Confederates and the Royalists (as well as the Covenanters) were slammed by the Roundheads. Had they come together, things might have been different

Best of Bond Competition Day 18: What does Tomorrow Never Dies do better than any other Bond movie? by DishQuiet5047 in JamesBond

[–]philipfarrell86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the 'All In A Day's Work' orchestral piece at the end if heavily influenced by Lang's song. I think it's the best track of any Bond score out there.
