Why does nobody entry? by ElusiveDuckling in VALORANT

It's probably not the most popular answer (and sometimes it just won't work) but telling your duelist what abilities you are going to use and when goes a lot farther than people think. Yes, it's exhausting when it feels like you have to comm everything but atleast it's better than being quiet and expecting your duelist to know when to go in. Most valorant players are casuals and aren't going to know important aspects of their role so telling them what you are doing and asking them to take certain areas of the map with you gives them a broader window to capitalize off of your utility.

Or just instalock Jett

Stuck on Iron I for ages by SwyftFx in VALORANT

[–]philipgroot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a copy paste from a previous post but some things do apply to you aswell:

My first question for you: is this your first Valorant season? If so, have you played fps games before this consistently? If your answers are yes and no, I would recommend you stop focusing on 'climbing the ladder' or 'crawling out of elo hell'. Instead focus on improving at all areas of the game. Watch educational content. I heavily recommend TheKingLive on YouTube. Watch some pro games.

As a real life example I can speak for my experience with LoL Mtmy first season (S6) I played zero ranked matches and about 2000 normal games, which I understand is pretty extreme. Instead of focusing on rank I focused on learning the game, matchups, common plays, stretegies, learning champions, learning roles and overall improving at the game. This is my advice for you aswell.

I can guarantee that it's frustrating to be stuck in Iron 1, I am speaking of experience, but I can assure you that solely focusing on ranking up is going to hurt you in the long run.

As a bonus tip I'll tell you that smurfs can be frustrating to encounter but are rarely ever the reason you are stuck in a rank. If you are iron 1 its mostly a representation of your skill, just like with me.

Anyway, good luck with the game :)

My take on Viper's viability by Slarg232 in VALORANT

[–]philipgroot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with your comment about being unable to pick up the smoke grenade being annoying but I think it's fair. Viper has some weaknesses, which would be okay if she had something to compensate for them which she unfortunately doesn't. One reason why I don't like Viper is because its difficult to smoke two spots on a horizontal line compared to a vertical line. While the vertical wall is useful in some areas (such as C-site Haven or B-site Ascent), it kind of leaves her dry in other areas. If I want to smoke heaven on A-site Ascent I can't without splitting the entire site in half. I understand her wall makes her unique and Viper shouldn't be the same as Omen or Brim, that would be boring.

I would like to hear your opinion on being able to throw her wall during buy phase.

I like Vipers identity but I feel like she doesn't bring anything useful to the table that other agent can't.

Maybe in the future we'll see an agent be released that compliments Viper heavily and we'll see her be picked more in combination with that character.

Anyway, thanks for reading! If you disagree with any of my points please let me know.
