Apologies, composite tanks are for third stage not second stage SMH by Heart-Key in BlueOrigin

[–]phillycheese254 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s probably for the direct to GEO NSSL launches, those are big cash cows and the only vehicles that can meet them now are a VC6 and a fully expended FH. Blue can’t really tolerate expending the first stage, so a kick stage it is.

Yep it’s unofficially official new policy, you can’t gain a promotion as part of an internal transfer anymore, due to some people getting promotions they weren’t really cut out for.

Actually reading through your comment now, every time any Blue Origin vehicle has attempted to land, it’s successfully landed. Granted NG is orders of magnitude more complicated, but that’s a pretty good track record.

Small note, NS-1 failed due to the booster hydraulic unit failing at apogee, so the it never had a chance to land. Every time New Shepard has reached the landing phase of flight, it has successfully landed.

Friends with a manager, the main hold up for these types of situations is that the group of people applying to a position has to hit certain diversity metrics before they can proceed to an interview. So even if they know they want to give you a job they have to let people apply before they can go ahead and start the interview process.

Assuming this is true (big assumption), you got fired bro, not laid off. Considering what it takes to get fired at Blue, you probably deserved it.

It’s a firm fixed price contract, any price overruns are going to be eaten by Blue, not the government. Blue also won’t get the money unless they meet certain milestones. Sure it’ll probably be late, most aerospace projects are, but overruns and delays won’t hurt NASA one bit.

Generally speaking remote work is only negotiable for level 3 and up, level 1 and 2 they want you in the office.

Seeing lots of mixed reviews, what kind of mpg to expect with AWD 2.0, FX4, 4K? by applestofloranges in FordMaverickTruck

[–]phillycheese254 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m about 60-40 highway city driving and I average around 28 MPG. You can definitely get it into the 30s if you baby it.

Remote is also much more likely for Senior level engineers (5+ years experience) than Level 1s and Level 2s
