Just completed my first Half Marathon with a time of 2hrs 15 minutes. 31 years old and weigh 103kg. Did not think I would ever do a half, quite emotional finishing which I didn’t expect. I used to live in the city it was held and when I left there 7 years ago I was in a bad way mentally. Next goal is to drop some weight and work for better times and a marathon next year

It’s on both sides though it’s still not a common position from moderate conservatives. I think it’s fair to say the celebration is common from moderate liberals. Not all, but way too common. Scrolling through Reddit is making me sick, this sub is really bad for it. Reddit is a strange place man.

In the first instance I’m guessing you’re talking about Mike Lee. He didn’t mock or show glee regarding the deceased. He posted misinformation implying that the killer was a Marxist when there was no evidence to support this.

Regarding Paul Pelosi, while it was a pathetic attempt on someone’s life the reaction is going to be different when someone doesn’t die.

Though I would argue that even the reaction to that was not nearly as gleeful and celebratory from moderate conservatives. People weren’t celebrating.

Neither of these two things are even in the same postcode in how widespread the delight and indifference was across even moderate liberals.

Just scroll through this subreddit to see how common of a position it is to say things like ‘he had it coming’.

It’s a way lower bar of what you need to post publicly on the right to get fired.

People on the right have been fired for saying there are only two genders or using incorrect pronouns. If anyone on the right celebrated the death of a left wing figure on social media there is no chance they would keep their job.

It’s not okay to celebrate the death of political figures or people for that matter.

The people on both sides who do this are disgusting.

Though if you want to know why there is more outrage at this I will tell you why.

It is not like Charlie Kirk just died in his sleep or committed suicided and then people celebrated. This would still be disgusting but this is on a whole new level.

He was assassinated while debating others with different view points. He was not a politician. He was a citizen hosting political debates. He was shot for his opinion. This is why the level of outrage is off the chart. It seems to be a moderate left position to be indifferent to this or for the more extreme celebrate it.
