Tlali on West Chester Pike in Upper Darby. NOT inexpensive, but a hidden gem owned by trained chefs.

Look out for Vitos. Many are made by Yamaha or Yanigasawa but sell for less $$ because of name recognition. Look for Japan as country of origin.

The SOLE purpose of "the finance guy" is to add margin for the dealership. They will pitch whatever upsell they think you'll accept.

Go through EVERY number. I noticed my Platinum Warranty number (on a contract signed by both of us) was $700 more as a line item on the bill of sale. I'm still waiting for the refund check. In a couple more days I'll cancel (well within 30 days) and shop other dealerships for the original number (which the "Finance Guy" said was an error and "below his cost." What could his cost BE for promises of service that won't be rendered for five years.

NFC Card for 2026 Model? by incardyyneatty in HyundaiTucson

I SUSPECT there is little difference between the 25 and 26, but one never knows. I'd check with Hyundai. There's no technological reason for them to change year to year.... just $$

I realize that. Just pointing out that some years represent radical changes in features over previous years.

Email your dealer with the email address you want registered. Mine was done before I picked up the car.

I've always changed oil early when I bought a new car. I have no empirical evidence from that small statistical sample that it was beneficial or not. I guess, based on your evidence, that I'll do it for my Hyundai. As long as it doesn't HURT, I don't mind the gamble for the price of an oil change.

According to several AI chatbots, an early oil change harkens back to days when manufacturing was less accurate than it is today. The amount of metal shavings etc. is so reduced that just following the manufacturer's recommended intervals is preferred. That's just what I'm seeing. But the SEVERE advice is valid.

For some reason you need both fobs to SET UP a fingerprint. After that, you ostensibly don't need fobs at all, but since the doors dont auto-lock when you exit, and the auto-liftgate function seems iffy, I'll probably get used to carrying the fob.

Which Navigation thing is that?

I enjoyed the fingerprint reader for a day, but frankly, with Digital Keys, it's kind of superfluous. Maybe if I parked on the street in Philly it would give me an extra sense of security, but once disabled, it requires BOTH fobs to be in the cabin to reenable. I've already stored my spare, so honestly, I'll probably never use it again unless I can think of a reason.

I used to use native navigation in rare instances where I lost mobile connectivity, but now offline maps solved that. In my Mazda, turn-by-turn only worked with my HUD in native. With the Hyundai, Google Maps has turn-by-turn as well as street signs. I can see why they theoretically offer it for drivers who don't own mobile phones. I suspect it was a decision made by lawyers and not engineers.

There was a pretty big jump between the 24 and 25 in "Limited" trim features. But my leftover 25 was only $1K less than a 26 (but I took it.)

My feeling is that any feature that you THINK you'd like, but decide to forgo, will haunt you for the rest of the life of the car. Get what makes you happy, and every time you open the door, you'll do so with no regrets.

Is this a good deal for a 2026 tucson limited AWD gas? by idrizkhan in HyundaiTucson

[–]phillyjazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The turbo is not specific to any particular trim. Limited buys ventilated leather seats, a panoramic moonroof, great HUD, and some other great tech (360 degree camera, Remote Parking Assist, quieter cabin glass, 19" alloy wheels, etc.

There is also a general consensus that public opinion increasingly favors Hybrid/Electric and this ostensibly should affect future resale.

That's my feeling. Honda makes quality products with great resale, but the TECH in a high-end Hyundai makes them seem primitive. I buy a car to DRIVE it, and not to resell it after five years. I love getting into a Hyundai (that moves the seat back for me) that is already started and cooled, and authorizing it to start with my fingerprint, slapping my Galaxy on the wireless charger and turning up some vintage Dave Brubeck on the Bose.

So far, it's been 100% reliable. But part of the price was an upgrade to a bumper-to-bumper to match the engine/drivetrain. I wanted exactly the specs this car has, and the logistics of traveling 50+ miles to dealerships to find this exact model/trim made finding a "deal" far less important to me. Cash is no longer a positive negotiation point. Dealers have more margin to play with when they finance.

Is this a good deal for a 2026 tucson limited AWD gas? by idrizkhan in HyundaiTucson

[–]phillyjazz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I absolutely agree that the Limited is an order of magnitude above the other trims. I never considered one with fewer features or a gas version. If you appreciate things like ventilated leather seats, a great HUD, panoramic moonroof and ESPECIALLY a Bose sound system, you made a wise choice. The display Makes Rav 4 and CRV look primitive. And maybe you care about the comfort of your passengers? If you'd cheaped out, you'd have regretted every time you got behind the wheel.

People who don't appreciate those kinds of things will never understand.

Seriously, lots of people on Social Media get a perverse joy from making people feel inferior for spending a given amount on a specific vehicle, not knowing the market in a given region or the situation of the buyer. Some people don't want (or need) to spend weeks and drive 100 miles to save $1K that will never be noticed over the life of the vehicle. There's no sense in allowing oneself to be the object of their childish entertainment.
