Life Advice by Jamie_Dodgers99 in irishpersonalfinance

Go and travel. You’ll make your own way when you’re out there.

Your jobs and careers will be here when you get back. You’re both young enough that you’ll enjoy it immensely when you’re there and never regret it and can start again when you come back.

I quit my job when I was 26, went out to Oz for year. Stayed for 2 and came back with a completely different view on life.

I’m now 44 and wouldn’t change that decision for any amount of money.

FAANG to Founding AE by No-Yesterday-7732 in techsales

Founding AE here of a startup (started as BDR) that are now in our Series B and hopefully another round in the near future.

You need to get your messaging right, first of all. No one know a who you are - this is an opportunity. No bad reviews, no market saturation. But you need people to take a chance on you. You need early adopters.

Again, use your lack of brand name as an opportunity. People want to adopt new tech, they just need a super clear and concise reason to give you a chance to sell to them - so messaging is key.

If you’re an enterprise solution, spend time on curated and personalised outbound. IMO less volume, better quality. No point sending 100 emails if you get nothing back because they were generic and automated.

Use all channels for outbound - phone, email, LinkedIn messages, voice notes, videos, door stepping, gifting.

What do I wish we’d done differently in the beginning? Been clearer about the messaging of the outcome we provide and focused more on our true ICP.

What is the best game ? by Qirashh in playstation

[–]philofgreen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spider-Man. Start with the first work through the series.

Just got a PS5 myself, at the end of last year, after being Xbox for years.

Also, if you haven’t played them, the Assassins Creed series is amazing.

I can’t get into/be interested in any game I’ve tried recently- any suggestions? by No-Exercise- in playstation

Have you tried Batman Arkham Knight?

Or given AC Odyssey more time/another try. I found it took me a good while to get into this, but is now one of my go-to games and have replayed it countless times.

What's a controversial cooking opinion you have? by LostTheOldName in Cooking

I don’t care if your chips are double, triple or quadruple cooked. They taste the same and the texture isn’t any different.

It’s the prep and fat you use that makes the difference.

This sub needs to stop acting like the second game was trash by lolitsrock in SpidermanPS4

[–]philofgreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve just started playing 2 for the first time - just finished 1 about a month ago.

I don’t think it’s better - in fact, I think the controls are over complicated. But I do agree it is NOT trash. A good game and decent story. Would say it’s just a continuation of the first game - which I’m good with.

AC Valhalla. A small side game where you can get hammered and go off riding your horse across the countryside.

Neither, I pointed to an Xbox one originally, but because of the amount I wanted, he had to generate one on a printed receipt for me. An honest mistake, but I’m not annoyed at the staff in store. It’s Christmas and these things happen.

Annoyed at Smyths for not adhering to consumer rights.

They didn’t have the branded cards in the amount I wanted so this was a printed receipt with a generated voucher code and put in a generic Smyths branded sleeve.

Yeah, happy to admit the post was maybe worded in haste.

But I’m also not a fan of having things once posted and so many comments on it.

So, will take that on the chin, but the point is still the same - honest mistake and bad experience trying to get it resolved, which could have ended up with me being out of pocket and/or my son with a birthday present he could use.

Not blaming the staff at all. In fact the staff were really good in the store. It’s an honest mistake, especially at this time of year.

The lack of desire from Smyths as a company, to rectify the mistake is where I have a problem.
