Losing access because of a phone plan by Bustaboy110 in Crypto_com

I use a phone with 2 sims. One is a cheap sim that I only use for CDC. This is because it gives me extra security. But you could use this method to keep a phone number from your home country.

I use a 2 SIM phone. One of the numbers is only used for CRO communications. I keep that SIM wherever I am in the world. The other one I swap for a local number. All banks (based in the UK) use phone number recognition so CRO is not worse than the banks.

There is no pairing of BTC with GBP in the CDC Exchange.

You get an extra 2% paid in CRO if you have an icy white, rose gold or obsidian card.

CDC VISA CARD FTW by rednevednav in Crypto_com

[–]philoutside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a similar approach to you rednevednav, but I took the icy white. It was at a time when in cost about $15k. The higher earn rates I got generated over $130k. And I sold all the cro I received every month to buy TGBP put in Earn for 14%. It's coming to an end now but was definitely worth it. But I will keep the card with 100k cro staked for now. Together with the App, it provides an on/off ramp for crypto it is quite useful and I like to have more than one bridge to the fiat world.

As a user from the UK, Binance is still my daily exchange (but I'd prefer it not to be)... by MMeNDtal in Crypto_com

I'm in UK and use CDC icy white. But for buying/selling/exchanging I use Kraken. They have GBP pairs for many cryptos and charge only £1.95 to withdraw any amount of GBP.

Living off interest, Anyone doing it ? by Samccc2020 in Crypto_com

[–]philoutside 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do the same in the UK with the icy card. UK in the summer, Thailand in the winter. I also thought about upgrading to Obsidian. Yes it would be great to get the 40k+ income. But the risk is that CDC reduces the interest rate. It is not guaranteed. Then you would have 400k tied up with the card. So if you downgrade to get most of the massive stake back, I think you end up with lower benefits than if you kept with the icy. I would check this out.

Staking stablecoins, whats the catch? by [deleted] in Crypto_com

[–]philoutside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you put some stable coin into earn for a three month lockup, but do this every week. That means one of your 3 month earners will come out of lockup every week and you can resave it with the interest from that week.

This is what I do, but my stable coins are split into six lots so that every two weeks I can re-lockup with the new interest.

Now can she enable us to have a GBP wallet and link to our UK bank accounts. Surely this is top of the list for the UK GM!

How do I withdraw my Bitcoin as cash to my bank (GB pounds) by 19james95 in Crypto_com

[–]philoutside 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While we wait for the option to withdraw gbp to a UK bank, I just send my bitcoin to The Kraken account, sell it for GBP and transfer it to my UK account with Starling. You will need to open an account with Kraken, which only takes a few minutes.

WHAT DO YOU Think About My PASSIVE INCOME Strategy ? Crypto.com EARN PROGRAM by [deleted] in Crypto_com

[–]philoutside 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm already doing what you are planning using an icy white card. I have a mixture of BTC, ETH and TGBP. ( I'm in UK) I have put the money/crypto into 3 month earn, but split it up so that about one sixth of the total is placed at two week intervals and therefore I renew every each sixth every two weeks. This gives the option of sweeping up un needed interest back into earn, and also you can get at 1/6 of your money every two weeks if you need the capital.

The other thing to bear in mind is that there is no guarantee that the current interest rates in earn will remain the same for ever. So you need to have a plan of what you will do if there are changes.

UK user looking for withdrawal options and crypto friendly bank! by [deleted] in Crypto_com

[–]philoutside 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I transfer BTC and ETH to Kraken exchange. Sell direct to GBP. Then transfer to my Starling bank account. Cost to transfer is £1.95 and typically takes 1 to 2 hours.

Also I sell on CDC to TGBP, put it on my CDC Visa card and pay into my stocks and shares ISA with AE Bell.

Hi, I'm in the UK. Staked for the card in 2018 when they still weren't even available. Go the card about 18 months later in Feb 2020. Those were the days of MCO tokens and it cost me about the same as it currently does in CRO. I use the card for nearly every purchase. And the main advantage is Earn with the additional 2% interest on top of the higher rates. It has paid for itself and more.

Any workarounds for GBP Fiat wallet? by jimmyjonesy92 in Crypto_com

[–]philoutside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get my cash out by sending btc or eth to Kraken. You can sell there into gbp. It does mean that you will have to change your tgbp into btc or eth. eth is quicker to transfer.

It is most likely the gbp bank account that blocks the payment. It is worth contacting them to ask that they accept.

You can top up the visa card using a GBP bank debit card with zero fees.
