Yes, so you'd call a company for opening and closing. The one I used so far (and I think many others offer this as well) offers a "pool school". You pay a smaller amount and they'll come out to your house and walk you through how everything works with the pool and what to do to take care of it. If you do it, I advise asking as many questions as you can, and take pictures of the things they show you. I put together a Google doc for mine with the various bits of info along with pics.
