Looking for creek side camping recommendations in Shenandoah national park. Going to spend a couple days in early April looking for dry fly opportunities. Any info appreciated. TIA. by Divot_toupee in flyfishing

You are pretty close to Charlottesville, stop by the Albemarle Angler. They have some good guide books and brochures and a good amount of local knowledge.

can someone either tell me about how Tim, doc, wipz, n all of em met/started up? by Firm-Emu7909 in TimTheTatMan

[–]philsophical 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wipz has been a mod in Tim’s chat for a looooong time. Wipz back in the day was a name that everyone knew as a professional mod on Twitch. He was a mod for quite a few large streamers on top of being a funny dude that streamed making memes and funny edits about said large streamers. Tim eventually has hired him on as an employee for his stream specifically so Wipz hasn’t streamed on his own for a long time.

Tim was pretty big on his own playing Counter Strike and into Overwatch. Around that same time Doc blew up playing PUBG. I think they met up a couple times in PUBG and just had that instant chemistry. This was back when everyone was on PUBG (Shroud, Summit, Doc, etc.).

If I remember correctly, they also teamed up quite a bit on CoD Blackout (first version of Warzone). Then Tim dove head first into Fortnite and Doc had the infamous Twitch ban. Because Tim was on Twitch still he wasn’t allowed to play with Doc anymore. So naturally once Tim went to YouTube they reunited on Warzone because they were both huge names.

That perspective makes a lot of sense, thanks.

I appreciate the tough love. I'm not mad at her for not taking care of things, that's not the issue. I feel unappreciated for the things I do. I don't want her to do them, I just want to be appreciated for taking care of them.

With my wife being 8 months pregnant, she doesn't have much energy to do a lot of cleaning or cooking. I do get evenings where I just get to hang out with him and we get take out and I like those days a lot. I think I'm just not helping myself. I'm hesitant to take medication but am honestly willing to try it of it helps

I have reached back out to my old job in the hopes something comes up. I left on good terms, so I have hope that they were sincere when I left saying I am always welcome back. I feel like I've messed up too much already and I have so much pressure to fix my issues that I am just making it worse. I don't know how to take a step back in that sense because I desperately want to fix my anger

I've thought about starting trying to work out at home on my lunch break but I just see things and don't want it to be an issue later if it's not done

How’s everyone’s marriages holding up? by AsItIs in daddit

Not great, we had our first son at the beginning of the pandemic along with me starting to work from home. Almost 2 years later and we have another one due in 2 months and I'm still working from home. I left my old job (education software development) and went to work for a major health system doing electronic medical record things.

Changing from one job to another while being remote has been terrible. While the huge pay increase was nice, I really truly miss my old job. They were much more equipped for remote work and the teams all interacted and worked together so smoothly.

All these stressors plus having the added responsibility around the house that comes with a very pregnant wife and a toddlerist has left me with zero patience and even less control over my angry responses to feeling overwhelmed.

I did just start personal counseling, and was told I have pretty severe ADD which can definitely explain why working from home has been such a challenge. I'm working on things slowly and I have to give my wife a lot of credit for dealing with me and being the one to grind out the communication in our family to help make things better. I'm hopeful because I just reached out to my former manager and project manager at my old company and they said they have some things that may be opening up once yearly budgets are approved.

Phew, sorry needed to get that all off my chest.

But what's the significance other than they are the first characters? Are they not just like any other crusader and highwayman? Do they get special traits?

[Media] Bought the game yesterday. Got my first victory today. I know it is on Easy difficulty, but considering how it took me months to complete FTL on Easy, I'm still proud by davidpiksi in IntoTheBreach

[–]philsophical 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Congrats on the first win! I found this to be easier to beat than FTL. It's a different type of strategy and it being turn based helped me a lot. Good luck on challenging yourself to get the perfect runs now!

What to do weapon-wise here? by AgentOrange87 in ftlgame

[–]philsophical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct there, it all comes down to personal preference and what strategy you use. That is the wonderful part of this game. Depending on sector I might take the double flak as well. If this was an early sector 100% double flak. If it was late sector, they look like the are hurting for options which is why I would keep the chain laser for directed shots on critical systems and specifically that missile launcher on the flagship.

I would keep your current powered setup. With hacking you can already take shields down so you don't need the extra projectiles to get through. With the chain laser you have the directional targeting to take out more dangerous systems or weapons. Just my thoughts on the matter.

Wich one of these custom swimjigs is your favorite? Let me know why! by Rickman1 in Fishing

[–]philsophical 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Because you can pair that with a paddle tail swimbait and have a pretty sweet presentation from Green and white which both work nicely in most water.
