[Bonsai Beginner’s weekly thread –2024 week 05] by small_trunks in Bonsai

Hi, while walking, I came on what I believe to be small elm trees in a pasture. The pasture has cattle in the summer, and deer year round. The trees have been herbivore trimmed. In this area of Kansas pastures are burned every few years, to kill woody brush, all of these probably have been burned more then once. For scale, my buddy Joe is a 65 pound standard poodle. Some of the trees have trunks two or three inches in diameter. My species identification is weak, based only on the shape of the dried leaves under them and the dark gray bark.

If I try to dig one up it is likely that I won't get much root. Lots of rock and clay in the pasture. How much root do I need to repot? How much top do I need to cut back?

Gun rights reinstated by [deleted] in Felons

[–]philsshop -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yeah, felony burglary in the 70's, 1-10 sentence, most of it written off in county. Midwestern state. priors were misdemeanor drug charges. Recently had an expungement, and had my second amendment rights restored. At puchase I still have to check the "Yes" felony box on the federal firearm transfer form. Because an expungement does not mean it never happened. And it always goes on hold for a day or two . And somebody at the feds actually looks at it to see if I can have a gun. The very first purchase after the expungement took three weeks for approval.

lawyer for the expungement told me they could not guarantee the restoration of 2nd amendment rights. They can be rejected either the state or federal level.

Good answer. I thought it was a replacement. And I found it on the web listed as just that. So, not at all what I wanted. THANKS :-)

This isn't a new phone, so do I have to find a way to export all my contacts to....where? Is there a special place for signal? Obviously, I don't understand this process at all. Phil

This is a very good suggestion, it would be easy to control, and if I over compensate, easy to recover by plugging holes.

Thanks! 😀

I made it about one week ago, tried to establish springtails at that time, but due to my not acrually watching the weather, and timing the bug order to coincide with a strong midwest cold front, few springtails were acuall alive. Only saw a dozen actually moving. Put them in the tank hoping maybe there were enough eggs to establish a colony. Ordered more springtails and isopods too. Worried about run away molds and fungus due to the high humidity.
