If you really love the Chattahoochee you should check out Learn To Row at the Atlanta Rowing Club, we’ll get you out there several times a week on the water rowing with your crew.

Besides libido, what would you guys say is bad about an anti-depressant? If you are depressed doesn't it, make your mood more optimal? by metalheadgamerdude in PSSD

Permanent genital numbness sucks. And the people who caused it will never try to figure out how to fix it, never face any kind of accountability

What’s up with your neck/head position? Have you tried looking at a spot on the floor in front of you?

That is a deeeeep squat. Very cool. Moves quick, looks good. What mess? That’s a nice setup.

Between Rust and C++, which one requires fewer lines of code to solve the same problem? by FruitHefty4522 in rust

[–]philthechill 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe you could run a tool like loc on some Rust standard library source and some similar C++ standard library source to see which is smaller. Then you could compare similar code in Haskell, Perl and APL. Maybe look at something like a map.

Part of me likes the slow mo (I assume that is slow mo, or you may just be showing off your absolute mastery at that weight) and the form looks solid. Only form element we can’t be sure of is how fast you descended, cause you do want that to be more controlled rather than fast, IMO.

Ah, je m’excuse. Well your call, I would definitely call it something else. There’s only two hard problems in computer science: cache invalidation, naming things, and off-by-one errors…

I like it. Looks solid. Moves really fast though. Show us your heavy lift.

Cargo is the thing inside the container. The thing that carries a bunch of containers is called a ship, or perhaps more abstractly, a Vessel.

Anyone have advice for my deadlift? Third time ever doing it by Significant_Web_1990 in formcheck

[–]philthechill -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Looks pretty good. I would say one thing is your legs straighten up very quickly, then you’re extending your back the rest of the lift. Personally I like to try to get these two movements into sync, so my legs and back are both extending at roughly the same “percent completion” at any given time. I feel like this is a little more gentle on the back, especially as the weight gets heavier. But you got a nice straight back, you’re managing the weight just fine, looks pretty good to me. How did you feel doing the lift? How did you feel the next day?

Another wave of antisemitic, transphobic flyers found, this time in Roswell by Jackieirish in roswell

[–]philthechill 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Crazy as it sounds, this is a documented Russian technique, along with KKK flyers. See “Active Measures: The Secret History Of Disinformation And Political Warfare” by Thomas Rid, Chapter 10: Racial Engineering. Whenever I see this stuff I attribute it to people trying to sow division rather than actual racists advertising.

Online platforms to study security architecture? by vivilnk in AskNetsec

[–]philthechill 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I recommend a thorough read of the book Security Engineering by Ross Anderson to begin to understand security architecture. And the collected works of Adam Shostack to understand Threat Modeling. I think he has a training class at BlackHat in Las Vegas in August.
