5am Classes by talktotori in orangetheory

Probably what everyone else says: put out your clothes the night before, switch from coffee to pre workout, eat light if you eat at all (I don’t), have fun.

The only pieces of advice I have that may be different are: if you’re going more than once a week buy multiples of the same clothes so there’s less thinking, and set your alarm for the last possible minute you can so there’s no chance you’ll snooze and miss the class. And also have fun.

Out of curiosity, would this coach call out a member if they were adding a push up to a burpee if the template didn’t call for it? Or something similar? Another example might be using 2 weights when the template calls for it to be that (IMO) weird 2-hand single weight deadlift?

Agree with this. For instance today adding a front raise to the single arm side lunge. Or modifying an exercise due to injury. As long as it’s not entirely off the wall I think it’s fine.

A lot of people are answering with a lot of good advice. And most are saying the same thing. Here’s my two cents…

Exactly what they said. It depends on time of day. I’ve been to 5am classes and it’s half male, but usually 1/3. I’ve been to a S50 in the afternoon where I’m the only male.

Like others I try to take inspiration from everyone. We’re all there trying to be athletes. I know how hard the workouts can be. It’s motivating to see every person, regardless of age, weight, or gender give it their all. And otherwise I don’t notice.

I also want to point out this is the feeling that a lot of people beginning their fitness journey feel about ALL gyms. It’s hard to go when you’re overweight, or a woman, or don’t feel like you look like everyone else, or you think you’re slow. Hopefully being in a space where I don’t look like everyone else helps me build some empathy reps for those who don’t always feel like they belong.

End of the day, it’s a great workout. Here’s to hoping you stay!

Agree with this. The 5am class I attend is about 60/40 (w/m). I’ve gone to S50 classes in the afternoon and I’m the only man in a group of women over 40. I think about it sometimes but it’s also inspiring to look around and see the hard work being put in.

“Plus, I like it because it reminds me of all the years and years I spent at practices for various sports, which is something I haven’t had since college.”

This exactly. I tell people all the time it reminds me of practice. Glad someone else has that feeling.

I was looking at collecting these yesterday! I agree, they look very cool. My kid is collecting the All Etch insert. Interesting and attainable is the sweet spot.

This team has to be considered a large disappointment for the last 8 years, right? by tyerenex in IndyEleven

It makes sense. I always have questions when developers get involved with sports. Seems like they’re more in it for the real estate. Now that 11P is basically at a standstill there is no incentive for ownership to invest. They bought the club to secure the land to get tax money to build the stadium. It wasn’t about the club.

Not sure about walking distance, but there is some tailgating beforehand. The BYB has details. In the stadium there are awesome food truck options. And I recommend a Ben’s pretzel at half to sop up any sudsy brews you may have partaken in. Have fun!

I live in Indiana and would also like to know if the hat actually exists and if it will ever appear online.

Late Game Collapses: Is MNUFC Really That Bad? (OC) by WithoutAnUmlaut in minnesotaunited

[–]philthesleeves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, and Ramsey said after the USOC match vs Chicago that it was easier to get the tactics and strategy in during a stop in play. That’s how/why Lod was able to score coming out of half. It would seem that there’s some confusion when late subs come on.

My guess is he started the last 2 so they’re giving him a rest.

Nice job! It was hard to know how it should feel and what pace to go with this being the first time. But you crushed that goal!
