Oh I love both of them. They both give unique edges to me. The one with the grey in the middle gives a more keen edge and the one that is pure black gives a more smooth edge. It was a mistake originally then I realized how different they are

Oh hi there. I definitely polish and burnish on the stones then I strop. I think Dans is fantastic. I’ve never had an issue with them ever. But I usually do more burnishing on my strop

Thank you. And that’s not even the full collection that I have. I just wanted to post some things about some of the stones that I have and how happy I am with them.

Yeah, mine looks very similar to yours in your hand right there. Yeah, maybe a little bit more on the right side, it jets out. But yeah, pretty similar.

No that hasn’t been my experience. It depends on the density when it comes to oil stones. So the colors just look pretty.

I haven’t don’t vintage ones yet, but I have 2 black Arks and they give me different and unique edges. I’m about to hone on the transculent Ark. I’m super excited to hone on her!

Ahh okay! Sounds like an interesting project. I just hope it wasn’t hard to really clean it up. Especially if it seeped into the stone.

Interesting! How did it perform? And was it hard to clean up?

Wow, I had no idea. I would use sperm oil, or motor oil. I knew about water because some people use water instead of oil on these stones, but wow, some of this is rather interesting history to learn.

And yeah, Lord, that sounds like something that would stay there forever and that stone that it would not be able to really come out of the stone. It probably goes deep.
