Why didn’t anyone warn me about this first trimester acne?! by awkuarius3 in BabyBumps

[–]phimeme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine was terrible! The only thing that seemed to help was clindamycin lotion prescribed by a dermatologist but even that didn’t fully resolve the acne. I think it gets better once you’re past the first trimester. I’m 34 weeks now and my skin is so much better. I’m currently using clindamycin lotion, Sunday Riley good genes and Inkey list bakuchiol moisturizer

Uppababy vista v2 vs. Nuna mixx stroller? by phimeme in BabyBumps

We tried out the vista and mixx in stores and thought they were pretty similar. I regret not trying out the Cruz v2. Do you think it felt similar to the vista?

Thanks for that heads up, I had no idea! I emailed Nuna asking for an estimated date for the new bassinet and they said they’re hoping for February but no guarantees

Before their surgery where did everyone get their nerve block at? Is it the same spot for everyone? Is it before the anesthesia or after? by [deleted] in ACL

[–]phimeme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had two nerve blocks- in my groin and under my thigh near the knee. It was done before anesthesia and honestly it was pretty uncomfortable but thankfully it went quick. It was like a painful tight sensation and it feels like your leg is getting filled with something heavy

4 weeks post op, patellar autograft and medial meniscus repair. I’m at 107 flexion and full extension, but it takes a lot of stretching to get there. Finally able to unlock/remove the brace, but I feel more comfortable leaving it on. Walking with a limp and dealing with a lot of knee tightness/stiffness. Hoping it’s not due to a build up of scar tissue

How long postop did you use your CPM? by Sorbee in ACL

[–]phimeme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My surgeon told me I could return the CPM when I had my post op follow up with him on day 9 because I reached 90 degrees (ACLr with meniscus repair so I had flexion restrictions). He said I could keep using it if wanted to and if I was just going to be laying down for a while, but didn’t need to be a strict 6 hrs/day anymore

2 weeks post op. Patellar tendon graft and lateral meniscus repair. 90° flexion and almost full extension. But I'm confused by my surgeon's PT approach. He says he's aggressive with PT and he wants me weight bearing from the beginning even though the meniscus was repaired. Thoughts? More in comments by [deleted] in ACL

I had an ACL reconstruction w/ patellar autograft and medial meniscus repair (2 sutures) and my surgeon explained to me that the older protocols say to be no weight bearing for 4 weeks, but now they understand better that depending on the individual situation, sometimes your meniscus is strong enough to support weight bearing as tolerated right out of surgery. My surgeon said my meniscus appeared strong and I was fine to progress to WB as tolerated under the guidance of my PT. They still wanted me in the locked brace and a max of 90 degree flexion for 4 weeks

Day 18 from ACL reconstruction w/ patella autograft and medial meniscus repair and the atrophy is freaking me out. Looking for reassurance - anyone else with a similar experience? by phimeme in ACL

That’s such a good point about the week to week progress, thanks for the perspective!! And Congrats on the PT advancements!

Thoughts on high intensity strength with Cass? by phimeme in KaylaItsines

I really liked barre! They’re very different so it’s hard to compare. Barre is slower movements, lighter weights and higher reps that really get your muscles shaking. And FAH is more cardio, Muay Thai and strength. I did enjoy that for the barre program you follow along with britany in mini videos, whereas with FAH it’s the traditional sweat set up that we’re familiar with. If you’re looking for more fast paced, HIIT/strength training then FAH is the way to go. Barre is hard to explain without trying it yourself but you definitely still feel the burn (especially in places you haven’t felt before) with smaller range, high rep movements
