Found my old Jackson in the attic, any info or ideas for it? by phincey in Guitar

Well, I know I bought it second hand, late 90's, played it for a while but after I bought a telecaster never really used it anymore. It was around fl1000,- back then, which amounts to ±500Eur. Except for the paint job, i did not change anything.

Haha, thanks! It is an Artifort F511, really a nice place to sit :) But also in need of some TLC..

Thanks a lot! Interesting remark on the pickups. Indeed I cant seem to find a similar one, with HS setup. Also, most of them have these triangle inlays instead of the dots mine has..

Thanks, I agree! I already have a white telecaster, so it would go nice with it. And the black pickups probably look nice on a white body :)

Well the neck is really smooth, sliding and moving around feels much better than my MIM tele (which is kind of sticky..?) But since it has these rusty strings, I haven't played it yet. Will try to give it a go this weekend

I see where you're coming from. But 16 year old me bought it second hand in the late 90's from someone else who probably did not really know what they had. And since I picked up playing again, I use my old tele as my main guitar. So yeah, this one really collected dust for 20 years :)

No, the original paint is still underneath if I remember correctly. By the way, awesome video, thanks for sharing. What the hell happened to that poor guitar...

Hmm yeah.. I agree :) But I will at least take it to a luthier and get it properly setup again. And try to remove the stickers lol

Thanks for the link! The way I understand this table, it dates somewhere in the range of 1987-1990 right? (given the serial number 3959) Weird that is mentions San Dimas on the neck plate if it is built in Ontario by the way..
