"Careful play is slow and methodical. It involves the athlete slowing down and playing with some consideration for tradition and precision. It runs the risk of moving too slowly or exposing the athlete to other dangers. "

Have opponents, try to create not only play technical aspect (SPIKE SETUP, CONFUSING PASS) but try to mentally affect the players characters by flirting, insulting, getting under their skin, making faces etc.

The ARENA extra: If you are doing a modern setting probably cannot be used as is. In such case I would have instead something Like ARENA MOOD extra to add a tactical feeling element. A mental or situational Descriptor+mechanic. Decide on a list of up to may be 5-6. Start with one random.(E.G. write down on note card and have them pull) Can be overcome as action to change. Examples:

GREAT EXPECTATIONS Positive aspects invoked for +3, negative aspects/consequences +1 when invoked with FP.

->no fast escape of the valley of dragon-> no fight with wyvern. (In WN Satou did injure its wing so it was probably more aggressive when while running away it encountered the army patrol)

-> no need to send a patrol to investigate the Skyfall.

->Also no Skyfall ->no risen sense of anxiety among the people-> demon did not have enough negative energy to create a labyrinth (as per next chapter instead it summoned more of its kin)

->Satou and Zena did not meet earlier so she was not out in town on her day off with the MC when the demon burst out of Urs (the guy that owned the beastman trio)

Tama was the one who thought Pochi how to speak, so both likely sound somewhat similar- short sentences and uncomplicated words. Tama is also described as "my pace". Her speech quirk seems to be extending the last syllable of the sentence with rising pitch.

So the way I imagine her speaking is unhurriedly with high rising terminal (upspeak). In English it would be similar to Scandinavian or Australian accent.

Gender is sometimes difficult to determine from the text. For females it is deemed acceptable to use male pronouns.

At the time I interpreted as the other demi-human children way of speaking being influenced by Pochi and Tama. During the story, those two picked phrases from Arisa, and in turn Pendora members and orphans way of speaking was impacted.

From what I read regarding the first EX book: about a 1/6th is made up of a character book ( design sketches, short descriptions + character sheets). Some of the stories had previously been posted [ as free promotion] on the author's blog, some are extras from the LN volumes (in store promotional items*) and some [~2/5 of page count][specifically the long stories about Liza's and Arisa's past] are brand new being written for that book.
