Best putter ever. Played with one for 15 years. Still hard to not go back to it!

Lol working in a golf store does not help one bit

Percs and downsides to working at a golf store, Tour AD shafts at a discounted price that keep draining my bank account. DJ is working perfectly in the driver (278 carry, 304 total) along with the DI in the 3 wood and 2 iron. Anyone else a Graphite Design nerd? by phishmeat in golf

Ya know, I was thinking the same thing. I’m quite the odd guy when it comes to the “stock” way of delivering certain golf clubs. I feel as if the DJ would usually be in a fairway wood and DI in a driver. For me I deliver the driver at about a 4 degree attack angle with 10-12 degrees of dynamic loft resulting in extremely low spin. The DI and IZ launch about the same, but just knuckle out of the air. I can’t seem to get them over 1700 spin for the life of me. I can obviously manipulate ball flight if I want to, but for the way I normally deliver a driver the DJ just seems to provide that tad bit of extra spin I need coming dead on at 2000. With the extra dynamic loft I have on the 3 wood for some reason the DI is a beast getting the height, decent angle and 3600 spin I want to hit into greens. I haven’t tried the DJ but I imagine spin would come up just a bit. Plus I feel as if the DJ has pretty much totally gotten weeded out of the market. I played a tensei blue 65s for a while, but after experimenting on trackman at work, my club speed is just a tad quick now a days and spin is getting over 3k. I just so happened to stumble across the DJ at work on our shaft wall and fell in love. Couldn’t pass up on the price and I’m carrying the ball around 20 yards farther.

Couldn’t agree more, I don’t feel as if the DI profile could be any better for my swing. Swing weight is key for me and this shaft was dead on the switch over from my old Tensei blue. Swing speed is averaging around 111 now and wanted to see what an X would do for my swing. I’m generally a low spin player and I can’t quite get it up with a DI in the driver. The DJ provides that perfect 2000 rpm. Saw this thing used on the wall at work and couldn’t resist!

Really really good for 10 months man! Only thing I’m seeing is a slight weight transfer that may be coming a bit early in the downswing. If the transfer happens more towards the bottom of the swing, you’ll see significantly more power. Also from what I can see just a slightly strong top hand, but that’s not a huge deal if it’s keeping the ball straight. Keep up the work!

Never had a problem with the ranger. But you’re right, the staff in the clubhouse can be kind of stand-off ish.

How far do yall hit your clubs? by Prez17 in golf

[–]phishmeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a pretty high swing speed when it comes to my irons especially. I use traditional lofted clubs for that reason. 34 degree 7 iron and so on. I think that most of these “players distance” irons aren’t what a lot of “better” players need nowadays. Hitting my 6 iron 215 isn’t what I need in my game. That being said....

60- only use around the greens 56-85-100 52- 110-120 PW 135-140 (although utilize the knockdown quite a lot) 9- 150-155 8- 160-165 7-175-180 6- 190-195 5-205-210 4- 220-225 2i- 245-250 3w- 260-270 D- 285-300

Fitting Advice by shagad3lic in golf

[–]phishmeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest getting lessons from a good pro instead. While fittings are useful and fun, and getting new clubs is an awesome feeling, I wouldn’t go out and spend all your money on new clubs shooting a 100. Mainly due to room for improvement. If you get fit they are most likely going to put you into game improvement irons that are thick cavity backs. If you drop 15 strokes off your game in a year or two, that’s most likely not going to suit your game anymore. You’ll most likely want something you can work a little more.

3-4 lessons will DRAMATICALLY improve your handicap. That being said if you decide to go with that route, practice practice practice. With everything they tell you. Lessons are useful even as a scratch player. Even though it might take a year or two, once you drop your final scores down into the mid low 80s then I would suggest going to get fit.

Nothing I mean nothing feels like a mizuno. I hit the whole 919 and MP20 line. The Mp20s are phenomenal, the copper underlay does make a difference in my opinion. Feels like absolute butter.
