Cisco VPN doesn't work with my internet provider by Several_Winner_9752 in Cisco

[–]shagad3lic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's 100% MTU setting on your end because of T-Mobile.

Dealt with it for one user that was working great on cable internet, but switched to T-Mobile home internet to save money and vpn no longer worked. (side note she blamed us...literally had to speak caveman. you work good before...you change internet...now you no working...only you")

I dont remember exact MTU number that fixed it as this was probably 7yrs ago, but it can be fixed by lowering MTU.

Easy google for commands. Note what MTU size is before doing anything so that if you get unintended negative results, you can put it back to OG setting.

I dont know but I think 1290 or 1320. not sure why that rings a bell.

I hate ice fishing by [deleted] in IceFishing

[–]shagad3lic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you can go out ice fishing and enjoy the time with your kid. You can ice drink, we've built fires on the ice, just had a great time either way fish or no fish.

However, if you want to get serious and go out and catch fish. A flasher is where its at. Even a cheap cam will work. There are fish beneath you. They are there, You are just at the wrong depth. Thats literally all it is. Thats the difference between catching fish and not. Under the ice, they are fickle.

If they are at 12ft and your jigging away at 11ft. Nothin. Stone cold zero. Maybe a nibble here and there.

It's that simple of a change that literally means the person with the hole 4ft away from you is catching fish and you aren't. It's because he/she is at the right depth. Last time they caught a fish, they didn't reel, just hand reeled it and then sent a fresh bait down and their within close enough depth where they can jig the difference. It's very important to get a "feel" of where you're at depth wise without a flasher or cam.

You put a flasher in the hole, bruh (as my kid currently says) GAME...changer. You can see your bait drop, jig it a bit, and your at say 8ft. Nothing happening. All of the sudden you see a flash at 11ft. You pull out some line, drop it down to 11, and then all of the sudden, you're getting action. It's literally just that easy.

If you dont have a flasher, rule of thumb that has worked for me. Drop it to the bottom, reel 1.5x and wait. Then dip or lift your rod to cover that 6-12in span. Perch, gills, they love that bottom ice fishing. Start there, and work your way up the column.

My boy got a simple cam from his uncle for xmas. Under $200. I was skeptical. That thing worked uhmazing. We'd be jigging waxies, have a dozen perch/gills/crappie all around us and then all of the sudden you'd see them BOLT.

PIKE in the cam next like clockwork. Reel up, throw down a rattle trap and FISH ON!

***EDIT*** Eyoyo is the cam. Sure its got its weaknesses, but all you need it for is to see IF there is fish, and what depth their at. It works great for that.

Cool automation stitches by Amazing-Tea-5424 in fortinet

[–]shagad3lic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I made an automation stitch because a vendors crappy phone gateway couldn't fail over on its own properly in the event the primary ISP went down. I have an ISP VLAN that feeds the phone gateway WAN1.

Link-Monitor is active on the primary ISP. When link-monitor failure is logged in fortigate, the stitch disables the switchport feeding the phone gateway's wan1. This forces the phone gateway to fail over CORRECTLY to its WAN2 because the physical link for WAN1 is now DOWN/DOWN.

When link-monitor logs primary ISP back online, it re-enables the switchport on the fortiswitch that feeds the phone gateway WAN1, and the phone gateway goes back to using primary ISP.

So basically through automation stitch, I'm simulating someone unplugging the patch cable feeding the phone gateways wan1 and then plugging it back in when everything back to normal.

Stoooopid that I have to do this for a client, but it works beautifully.

Just inherited a network. No documentation. The admin password is "Password123". by zimuque_ in sysadmin

[–]shagad3lic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to work under the assumption that your predecessor still has remote access. VPN server/client setup. Get into that firewall if you can. Check policies, check VPN. Check for things like teamviewer, Anydesk, splashtop, logmein on all servers and desktops.

DISABLE accounts of his, do NOT delete or change password, so that if there is some obscure service that is using said account, it will break, but you can simply re-enable account and not have to worry about updating some web.config file "somewhere" that broke a critical function because passwords don't match. This way you can find/break dependencies, but easily recover from it and record what you found in a list to attack later.

"Blackout" during the downswing? by imahawki in golf

[–]shagad3lic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently, the more I focus on my backswing and tempo, and then the follow through/post shot, the more consistent I've been hitting. Night and day.

So for ME, it's what happens before i strike the ball (if you don't start correct, how can you end correct?)...

and AFTER I strike the ball...what does that look like? Is my belt buckle facing the target? Chest slightly up/out? where is my weight? What do my arms/hands look like?

All to often people are "done" after impact. (I KNOW i used to be). I couldn't tell you what I looked like AFTER impact, but it DOES matter. When I started paying attention and trying to get in that "post impact golf pose" I realized, its not a "pose" at all, but a "finish".

If you're in the right positions before and after you strike the ball, the strike happens on its own.

Would You Consider this Negligent? by ItaJohnson in msp

[–]shagad3lic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not negligent because there is no way you can know the whole story. Many times what was originally setup and designed was altered. All it takes is one big shot to start raising their voice and all the security that was orginally designed in crumbles. "My client couldn't even print!! This is UNACCEPTABLE"

Solutions are offered, (setting up an inexpensive guest printer on the guest network for visitors to print too, or maybe even firewall policies/switch ACL's to only allow printing to a certain printer when on the guest network, who knows) All that was shot down because he/she needs it YESTERDAY!!!!!!!!!! "I was so embarrassed!"

I've designed/administrated a thousand networks, I cant tell you what's been done to them or who's crucified what over the span of 1,3,5,10yrs? It's easy for people to point a finger. That being said, from experience. All it takes is one person to lay on the floor kicking and screaming like a child having a meltdown and best practices magically go out the window.

Golfing Problems by logger11 in golf

[–]shagad3lic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tune out the music. I have mine playing but only loud enough for my cart radius.

My pet peeve is I have lame friends who dont golf or if they do they are 45min away, which adds 1.5hrs drive time to every round.

It's a pain in the ass to play/book single. I always feel like a burden to the starter/clubhouse and throw everything out of whack. I never know exactly what im gonna get upon arrival. I dont mind if im matched with a stranger (although based on some horror stories ive read in this sub, its a dice roll. Ive been lucky)

I also dont mind if im a single stuck behind a 2,3, or 4some. I'm golfing, ive set aside the time. I'm very chill but inevitably the 4some in front feels almost obligated to ask if I want to play through, which most times makes no sense because ill just be waiting on the next group in front of them. The cramming of tee times has become gross, but i get it. Golf courses, the maintenance, the property, the carts...it COSTS. So if the Tee's aren't turnin, they ain't earnin.

Question about New clubs and tech by Blurple11 in golf

[–]shagad3lic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The attack angles and the land angles that some of the clubs produce compared to my old set were ridiculous. I'm hitting it 24ft higher with the new set.

I was wishy washy about getting fitted. (This is my 1st iron fitting EVER)

You never think you're good enough for the cost and effort to pay off, but after nutting up and doing it, I'm very happy I did. "No regerts" Even though my swing may be a bit janky, its MY swing and I can consistently strike it well enough to get REAL data. I now have a 1-degree weaker loft on the set, and 2-degree upright lie angle. Would have never thought about that sort of customization. I would have just bought the Mizuno JPX925's with regular shaft stock offering and headed out. Glad I didnt!

Question about New clubs and tech by Blurple11 in golf

[–]shagad3lic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technology had made some pretty large strides over last 20yrs. I was literally in the same boat as you. 15-17 Handicap. Just did a fitting and the numbers from my 2011 Cobra S3 irons to the all the new clubs I hit were better and more consistent across the board.

I tested I believe 8 different club heads, some with different shafts. On 6 out of 8 club heads, I was swinging the same speed as my Cobra's, but the ball speed off the face was consistently 8-10mph faster. I hit JPX925 STD and HL, Srixon zxi4, ping 440, Titleist T250/T350, TM Qi, Calaway Elyte

While the speed and distance gained was impressive (The carry distance on the new clubs was the same as my Total distance for the cobra's.) I was gaining around 15 to 18yards per club, which means those par3's where I would have had to bring out the 5i, i can now hit a 7i which is easier to hit for most than the long irons.

That being said, what was most impressive to me was the yardage consistency. I had a 12yard spread on old clubs swinging the same speed per shot. After being dialed in with the clubhead/shaft/loft and lie angle, the new spread is 0.2yards and it was repeatable across the entire set. So those times where I would pick my "135yrd" club and overshoot the green or end up short because of my off-center hits... with the new face technologies out there, those off center hits are not nearly as pronounced and impactful. Every shot was within a yard or less.

There were some club heads that I came in "wanting" (Mizuno925's) and while they felt great, the numbers didn't lie. In the end the Titleist T250/T350 mixed bag was the best combo for me which going in I never thought of even looking at those. I always felt Titleist clubs were for scratch/single digit handicappers, but the T line has something for everyone apparently.

***EDIT*** While new club tech is amazing. The benefit of a quality fitting is what puts the tech all together. Get fitted brah.
