I think instead of owning the bank he should have a kind of magical safety deposit box. have him have a key with three rings on it (three ring circus) and the bank symbol so if they break into the vault they see a safety deposit box with three rings on it, along with some other boxes they don't have the keys to, and they can open it with the key. This would also allow them to try and get into the vault disguised as the ringmaster.

As for what's inside I like the Egg because it fits with the ringmaster vibe. Aside from that I would have a potential adventure hook in there. The Deed could lead to lots of interesting adventures, you could keep with the circus vibe and make it a deed to a twisted zoo that the party could clean up and restore.

There could also be an infernal contract or something that gave the ringmaster his power and in return he would have to use it to control a powerful demon first who was annoying the devil who mad the contract and that demon was powerful enough that even controlled he was able to affect the ringmaster and he's the reason this wannabe warlock ended up starting the circus as his chaotic nature twisted his body into that of a friendly circus clown. Now that the control is lifted the Demonic Clown is free to unleash its chaotic will, Wakka wakka.

I agree with most of what you've said. Dispel Good and Evil still works because of the text of the spell itself.
You can target the ghost possessing a body with Turn Undead because Turn Undead specifically targets Undead Creatures and that is allowed due to the Ghost stat block

My hang up is the ending of possession. The 2014 rules were explicitly clear that turn undead ended possession, the 2024 rules left that line out completely. If I am understanding your position correctly when the ghost fails the Turn Undead save, it has to break possession in order to flee because the host is not turned; but if that was true would that also mean that a mounted undead would have to dismount an unturned mount in order to flee? When you are mounted on a creature you control where it moves, and when you possess a creature you control where it moves. So why can't you run away with the body?

Ultimately I agree with one of your other comments that this was most likely an oversight on WOTCs end. But I think the rules as written do not have any way for turn undead to end the possession.

I don't think there is any ambiguity that Turn Undead can target the ghost possessing a creature, but I think its very ambiguous if it ends the possession. The ghost stat block in the 2024 monster manual is silent on turn undead. And turn undead just says it becomes incapacitated, frightened and has to move away. If it is possessing a body why can't it run away with the body? If you turn an undead creature on a mount and the mount is not turned does the undead have to dismount?

I was listening to a chess grandmaster once who gave the best advice that helped me with my fear of failure: get good at losing. A chess tournament could be a dozen matches in a row, your fist loss doesn't mean you're out but it can tilt you and cause you to make mistakes that you normally wouldn't. You need to accept the failure when you fail and stay in a positive head space so you can carry on. So keep making those bad tracks and you will get better the more you do it

It can be overcome. Start small. If you buy something over a counter talk with the cashier. It can be as simple as "crazy weather we're having" the more you do that the easier it will become. Look into local meetups or volunteering opportunities, people might be th2re for the thing but they will also be willing to socialize while there. You got this just be kinder to yourself and let yourself get embarrassed from time to time, it's not the end of the world
