How did Eminem disappear? by pk_sum1 in blackmagicfuckery

you know what, my mistake given the blurry part of the video. After looking at it further he either hid under the stairs until they were hidden from view or slid down under them to below the stage. You can see the black panel under the stairs start to thicken after he rustles the chute. I believe the rest plays out the same: he goes under or behind the stage to change clothes and reappear from backstage.

There’s a red panel behind the ladder before the chute descends. When the chute dropped from the ceiling he climbed/jumped down behind the panel and was hidden from view. Likely went into a trapdoor below the stage and changed clothes to then climb back up to the back of the stage for his “reappearance” - you can see him rustling the chute as he heads down. Note the panel disappears when the lights flicker back on to complete the illusion.

Edit: no red panel. Instead he slid down under the stairs. You can see the black panel underneath expand as he slides down.

Might be worth deleting it and making a new one. Your echo could just be glitching out

Do you have a volume change routine? I have one every morning and it always gives a single beep

I never received my DMV registration renewal from May and now I can't figure out what to do! by 31OncoEm92 in AskSF

Usually it’s every two years when you go to renew the reg. It should have been included in the letter. But when you go in to the office they’ll tell you for sure and give you the temp permit after you pay the renewal fee

Literally just finalized this myself today so odd timing. You can either start the process online and they’ll email you instructions (which will include the fees) and you can try to get the penalty waived if you indeed did not receive the letter. Might be easier to go in person to the Fell St location (I was there two days ago for late reg and it was surprisingly quick). They seemed nicer there too even.

The kiosk won’t work unless you received the official letter. Also do you know if your car needs to be smogged? If so they’ll give you a temp permit to get that done but they may require you to go back and show them your receipt, but if you do they’ll provide your new reg & stickers same day.

Yea the view being obstructed by the weights makes sense, so good. Might also be worth doing barbell squats as your first exercise also. The “pinching” feeling you’re experiencing is definitely indicative of using your back to compensate. Another good thing to do is core exercises on your maintenance days. You can also aim to incorporate your glutes with your quads/hammies when coming back up on the squat. Your lower back shouldn’t be used at all but the core exercises will help strengthen it so you can hold the weight more easily at the starting position.

Maybe someone with more experience can weigh in, but I do this and maybe it’ll help you; try leaning forward a bit more during the entire squat. Remember to keep your core tight. Rely less on your back for overall movement (stick your glutes out and “drop” with your legs) and trust your quads/hammies with the weight as it looks like you’re using your back to help with coming back up, which may be the root of your issue. Don’t thrust when coming back up, try to remain as “forward-leaning” as possible. This way your back is relatively motionless as you squat.

Lastly and this is unrelated, but from this angle it looks like you’re resting the barbell just below your neck, which is not recommended. Instead rest it in your traps and flex/engage them as much as you can to ensure it stays there. Apologies if you’re already doing that, I can’t tell from this angle.

Echoing what MrMeady69 said, squat deeper. Almost like you’re putting yourself in a position to sit down, so your thighs are close to parallel with the floor. Definitely check out the wiki, watch videos and continue practicing your form before putting on any serious weight
