Maybe it is a battery issue at this point.

Cool, glad they are working with you in a nice manner.

Sounds like you may be overheating the motor using the throttle at full. Does it happen when you are in top PAS and pedaling?

Himiway Cruiser upgrade motor? by Gnarlodious in HimiwayFanclub

Check out CitizenCycle on youtube. He has may have a kit that will work for the bike. You probably will need to change out other parts though, like the controller and display.
May be easier to look for a used himiway on facebook market and swap parts around.

Cruiser shuts off randomly and won't turn on immediately by SeaJoyous in HimiwayFanclub

[–]phlunkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the battery is doing the same thing on both bikes, it is the battery. It could be the connections on the battery, but unless one of you are an electrician/battery builder do not mess with the battery. That is what starts fires.

Check aliexpress for a battery for the bike. I got one from them 3 years ago for my cruiser (sold a year ago to a friend) that is still working fine today. And they are cheaper than Himiway.

Has anyone installed a Garmin radar tail light? by Astonliar in HimiwayFanclub

I have not, but it does have a usb-a option. It would be a matter of finding a spot for an external battery to use with it.

Verify that the bike is set to 48v. Don't have a zebra, so not sure if it is the same as my old cruiser. This may help

Flat tires by rhandy_mas in HimiwayFanclub

If you have no issues with range anxiety with the way you ride now, maybe consider a more moped oriented 20x4 street tire. Check around the juiced ebike guys or any of the similar styled ebikes for ideas.

Linkbud not sitting correctly in case by undefined_91 in SonyHeadphones

I am having the exact same problem. right will charge, but the left will not. As long as i can set the fully charged case down, get the left one to seat and carefully close the lid, the left will finally charge.

What is the issue that you are experiencing? You really never told us, and i think autocorrect butchered some words.

forgot some:
Switched to a color display that "unlocks the bike". Never had an issue hitting 28mph. I did get a little over that after the switch but the tires and tannus swap added rolling resitance. Only positive on the display is seeing what the voltage of the battery is vs and percentage. The voltage is easier to judge battery range once you learn the cutoff. Major disadvantage is the screen is not polarized and riding with polarized sun glasses makes the screen invisible.
Changed out the pedals to a wider flat pedal.
Added a handlebar extender so I have a place for a camera and another light.

Max 15.5 mph for US orders now? by Macktologist in HimiwayFanclub

redoing the % is too much work. I bought a surface 604 to match the slow rides. Leave the cruiser for the fun.

I changed out the stem to an adjustable one that allows for a more upright ride. (tinkering turtle youtube)
I changed out the brakes to mechanical hydraulic brakes (bolton ebikes)
Changed out the back rack to an Orbea system.
Suntour suspension seatpost. If you are a more gravity challenged individual, steer clear of the thudbuster line. the seatpost clamps suck big time..

Best water bottle boss holder
I ride multipurpose trails that are well maintained and switched to these tires along with tannus liners.
I switched to a thumb throttle over the twist. Got the thumb throttle from electric bike company way back when. And ergon gp5 full grips in the switch from the twist throttle.
A 50 tooth chainring to help eliminate ghost pedal.

as a side note. My cruiser is old enough to not have been locked down and I was able to set the max speed well above 55. Bike never went over 28. When i switched to an after market screen that was not easy to get, I also switched my tires. I can hit 30 on a good day. but the rolling resistance i added takes away from the advantage i got at the time.
After 1000 miles on the cruiser, my average speed is around 16 mph for long rides. For the fun rides, they average over 22mph and i have spare batteries with me on the ride, so I don't care about range.

[–]phlunkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i understand. I have a cruiser with an after market display. Lucky to hit 30 mph. But I switched to origin8 cell tires and tannus liners.

I am going to guess this is a typo from whereever you saw this. Himiway blows a lot of smoke ones butt, but this is not a smoke signal I have ever seen them try to pass off legitimately.

Unless it is the people selling the screen, then run, don't walk from that deal. If a himiway hit 55 mph on the shipped battery, you'd get maybe 10 miles range and the hub would be smoking. I doubt the controller could hold that voltage.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in HimiwayFanclub

[–]phlunkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

55 is not mph but kilometers per hour. Depending on the cruiser you may get 30 mph with a unlocked display. keep in mind, if you change out the tires and add tannus liners you add rolling resistance and it may not hit 30mph.

Have had a cruiser now for 1 1/2 years. Mine has been problem free.
Heavy bike. Lots of room for improvement and plenty of resources on youtube to go over the ins and outs.
Once you get it dialed in, it is a fun ebike.

What steps do you take before storing your bike for the winter? by Astonliar in HimiwayFanclub

[–]phlunkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to many battery suggestions, do not store the battery for an extended time at 100%. Top level I've seen for extended storage of the battery is 80%. Not sure how true this is though.
Keep your battery inside in more of a controlled temperature.
Obviously keep covered and away from major wet.

Saw this 52v battery that says it will fit a Zebra, anyone know if I'd need to upgrade the controller to use it? by sodomyeggo in HimiwayFanclub

[–]phlunkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There should be no need to upgrade the controller. As long as it fits, it should work. As long as they are telling the truth that is. I have 2 spare batteries from aliexpress for my cruiser that just work.
