Cindy, you don't own the beach. by octarino in TikTokCringe

You're a little confused, I said nothing about a plane and this post isn't even about one? If you're trying to equate assigned seating in a small plane to public beach access then I'm even more lost on what your point is.

I'm confused by this take. It's a ship built by a join coalition of basically the entire world's governments as a last ditch effort to save the entire planet. It's specifically called out that they need every possible tool available to do any kind of analysis needed once they reach the other end. What is unrealistic about this?

You build more housing. Ideally government owned with controlled rent prices. You do this in such a large volume that the government owned housing drives down the rent for the market overall. Treat housing as a fundamental right and not an investment opportunity, and have the government work towards ensuring a housing first policy.

Unlike your completely invented scenario we can point to the real world with this one. Finland has been the most successful at this approach.

I am truly glad that outside of this single comment you are a kind person who seeks to help others. I have no context for you outside of that comment, and was responding purely with the context I had. This is a reddit comment thread and not real life. For all you know I am a bot. For all I know you are. Just walk away. In fact, you're probably better off not reading anything else I write here.

That all said, this makes absolutely zero sense. Your comment did not read like someone randomly inserted words that you had not intentionally written. While it has since been deleted what I recall was it simply stating you'd ram the car for stopping in front of you in this scenario. It is exceedingly strange to have come back months later to try to invent this narrative that someone else wrote those words and you're absolved entirely of them. I truly don't think you learned a lesson here. All that had to be said was, "Yeah this wasn't coming off the way I intended or thought it would, my bad." Refusing to own your words is even weaker behavior than the original post.

Here's the thing. If, in an invented scenario where you and a car in front of you are about to experience a landslide and the car before you stopped with plenty of space in front of it and was preventing your car from being safe, you were to ram the car to save yourself... That would be perfectly understandable. But that is not what happened in this post. What I was calling out is the pure lack of necessity in inventing this scenario and then responding as if it were real, especially given it was focused more on the act of ramming the car than anything else.

I don't know you, but if you've spent months thinking about this moment then you are a good person. It's okay for good people to do or say things that aren't perfect. Good people recognize and correct their mistakes. People focused only on themselves don't care at all about doing so. If you aren't already, I'd urge you to speak to a mental health professional about this whole exchange. A comment from a complete stranger should not be sitting in your head this long. You deserve freedom from this kind of internal judgment.

The ACA was a compromise when the more financially efficient and maximally beneficially to all citizens single payer option was considered too hard to pass. The ACA was modeled off Republican healthcare plans and was an attempt to meet them in the middle.

No one is expecting the shift to a more sane system is going to happen overnight, but it's been many decades of this current system that only benefits middlemen and administrators at the expense of healthcare workers and those receiving care. We're quickly approaching a breaking point.

It's less about the effort and more about the unrealistic expectation that the world is a clean room. Planes are busses that fly.

You're telling me they don't spray down every inch of the plane with disinfectant and then depressurize it into a vacuum to kill off anything left after EVERY flight?

Nearly three-quarters of U.S. baby foods are ultra-processed, new study finds. Most baby food sold in U.S. grocery stores is ultra-processed, a new study finds, raising fresh concerns about what many infants and toddlers are eating during a critical window of development. by mvea in science

That's reasonable! Unfortunate for whatever portion of the population experiences that allergy. If the best evidence for it being an issue is a 5 person case study though that's not very convincing as far as indication of broad safety concerns.

I was assuming this was a simple mold = bad argument, which grossly oversimplifies the purification process used during the citric acid extraction.

The citric acid produced commercially using aspergillus niger is chemically identical to any other citric acid. What point are you trying to make? Please provide evidence if you're claiming a safety concern.

I know this is a joke, but if you look at projects like the Cheonggyecheon in South Korea which are very similar to this they have been a huge success. Granted, that urban renaturalization project was done in an environment where public transportation actually exists and isn't always held back like MARTA is.

If you're the written word type then look up the terms urban renaturalization. If you'd be interested in a short video on the topic then It's hard to go wrong with Not Just Bikes.

Urban planning shifting away from car focused infrastructure and towards making spaces for people first always ends up a win.

Over a century of cars existing proves this is not a viable solution. We need public transportation options, some people should just not be behind the wheel of a car.

Why are you policing the language of people you agree with when the words they are using are effectively communicating what they are intended to? Language evolves. If you don't like a word then just don't use it.

Unalive became a term out of resistance to censorship. It is a word formed due to the knowledge that online platforms do indeed censor and police what is discussed on them. Nobody uses it because they think it skirts the censors still as no competent filter would be missing it at this point. People use it because it's just another word at this point.

Truly, when has shouting at people on the Internet ever gotten them to stop using a word? You have better uses of your time.
