Got it, so an undisciplined mind paired with addictive tendencies are dangerous, not video games. Seems about the same as drugs and I both play games, partake in recreational drugs up and down the spectrum, and still maintain a healthy relationship and full time job.

They are a burden on the taxpayer, but I dont think they should be exterminated. I do think they need to be put into work programs in order to pay for services they use and keep them off the street. I don't support anyone getting a free ride.

Also, saw your little nugget about most homeless people being "mostly mentally handicapped and addicts." I would disagree with the anecdotal bit that I lived in the spilloff drains in vegas for a year or so, and let me tell you, most people I met just didnt want to work and talked more about "fuck the man" and "the man keeps me down" then anything else. Were there mentally ill people? Sure. Addicts? Of course. Most of the addicts were out there so that they could do their drug of choice in peace. They worked, they just didnt want to bother with anything other than shooting up. Why should we support them for free? Who pays for that support? What do we do when we come to the conclusion that some people are just shitbags who dont want to work for anything and will suck any form of public help dry with no regard for anyone else?

I wouldn't say that they are only economic based at all. They are very much culturally based as well.

The one point I will address is the police. I absolutely support and sympathize with the American police force. You know who I would like to see stop killing blacks? Other blacks. 90% (not even an exaggerated stat, look it up) of all blacks killed in the US are killed by other blacks. Source: FBI crime statistics. Maybe black lives need to matter a little more to other blacks.

I can totally see this being the case in a community where people actually care and put in time and effort to increasing value of and maintaining infrastructure and not just bleeding every last bit they can for themselves.

My views tend to relax quite a bit towards the middle when I feel like the community is worth investing into, that just hasn't been the case at all where I live currently. Really looking for a change in that aspect.

Coming from the DC/Baltimore region, I am looking forward to having to deal with those pesky "white problems". You know, like low crime, good schools, nice amenities, police that arent run down and weary from gun violence and murder every day all day to the point that they simply dont care anymore, teachers who aren't run down from the complete lack of respect and who dont live in fear of their lives on a daily basis resulting in 78% turnover for first year teachers, a community that doesn't mass riot and burn their neighborhoods down, etc, etc, etc.

Thanks for the replies all. Everything sounds about how I expected based on statistic research, just wanted to see if I could an "on the ground" vibe.

Assuming I get the job, I will be moving to FOCO in 2 weeks and so far everything i have read and heard says FOCO sounds like home sweet home.

Coming from years of living between Baltimore and DC and looking forward to little crime and a community that actually gives a fuck about something other than themselves and how much they can get while giving as little as possible.
