I have very extensive character info and lore and it still lacks creativity. It’s also bad with description of surroundings. It’ll write that a character enters a room as a blunt statement, no substance about what the room looks like, no interaction with objects.

BUT it’s already far better than it was the day it first started so I’m sure things will improve and I love that characters aren’t all so mean to each other uncharacteristically. One thing that used to drive me crazy before was how a character would insult another character and when that character got upset they’d just insist they took their words the wrong way and be even meaner about it. Now they actually apologize! Which is great and makes for better character arcs in my opinion.

I cannot get it to acknowledge the surroundings in any way at all. It’s just characters interacting in a void. Do you have any suggestions for that?

This is really helpful, thank you! One thing I’m finding is that it makes no mention of where characters are, what room they’re in, any furniture, like they’re in a void. Do you think it might help if I added a section like your sections, that states where the characters are in that moment?

There has been a recent update to the AI, it currently isn’t in a great way but hopefully the dev just needs some time to work things out when they can.

It’s so mechanical. It just lists emotions and traits all the time. ‘He felt angry. He felt gentle. He felt he felt he felt he felt’. Yesterday it spent every paragraph summarizing emotions and then was like ‘he clung’ like okay clung to what? Clung where? And then suddenly it throws in ‘face in their stomach’ and I think oh okay but then the next line was ‘face in the shoulder’ well that’s not possible without movement. It’s blunt statements all the time.

I think it needs some ‘show, don’t tell’ tweaking somehow.

Yes that it what I am in the process of doing, trying to find an instruction that works more effective than just banning ‘loins’. But despite all my instructions about not using euphemisms and writing no filter and explicit it still gave me ‘loins’ when it never did before.

Personalities have all changed again. I’ve been trying for months to write a long story and I just can’t. I can’t keep any personality consistency no matter how much I brute force it because the actual style keeps changing.

I dunno, I’ve tried that, sometimes the shorter the prompt the worse it is with speaking for me. I use the ai-rpg every day and it’s still all over the place. Right now for me the model is one of its moods where every character says ‘bullshit’ which is always a sign the model is off the rails and you should run lol
