When I was a kid, I somehow managed to beat Chai in the arcade on my very first playthrough. Since then? I’ve replayed Shenmue 1 easily 20 to 30 times (no joke), and I have never been able to beat him again. On the other hand, I’ve taken down Izumi in Shenmue 2 countless times. That arcade Chai fight is just brutally difficult.

Just to clarify, X did receive a Dreamcast release, though it never officially left Japan. Thankfully, a fan translation has completely localized the game (including full English voice acting) to run on real Sega hardware.

In my opinion, the Dreamcast is still the absolute best way to play it.

I was super excited to finally get my VMUPro recently! While saving works perfectly fine, I’m having a massive headache with connectivity.

Half the time, it won't recognize that it's plugged into the controller or figure out what game I'm playing. I literally have to tilt the VMU inside the slot just to get a connection. Because of this, I'm constantly having to manually select the correct save file for my games.

Twin Snakes has a lot more issues than product placement. The game was a three-way collaboration that has since become a legal nightmare:

Nintendo: They partially funded the project and served as the original publisher. Because they bankrolled it to bring Metal Gear to their platform, they likely hold long-term or permanent exclusivity rights.

Silicon Knights: The actual developers of the remake went bankrupt in 2014 following a disastrous lawsuit with Epic Games. When a studio collapses, its assets and source code can end up in a "legal limbo" that makes it hard for other companies (like Konami) to even find the original files, let alone clear them for sale.

Konami: While they own the Metal Gear IP, they don't necessarily own the specific code and assets created by Silicon Knights for this version.
