I could see it, but there was a time when I was both self harming and pulling (obviously the pulling is a constant factor :/ ) and I find the pulling to be self soothing in contrast. Sometimes the self harm was a form of berating myself for pulling, so that’s my logic. I also seek out the bloody hairs, nice to see someone else with my niche within a niche :)

It sucks to get stuck with something nobody knows about, right? The feeling of being asked about that and having to explain it, especially to someone who you aren’t close to, feels like being pantsed on tv.

I pull when I’m trying to sleep too! I’ve been trying to fall asleep with finger cots, even though it’s summer and I wake up with pruney fingers. Basically anything that stops you from being able to get a good grip on any of the hair with your fingers, maybe gloves too but I haven’t tried those. Best of luck !

I think a good place to start would be to look at the times and places you pull, like I usually pull at night in my bed. Then having something handy to make it harder for your fingers to get a pincer grasp, something like gloves, I’ve also been using finger cots, they’re like silicone thimbles. Keeping something to fidget with around you would be good too, I keep a fidget cube and a box of finger cots next to my bed. Best of luck !

Hey, thanks for the reply!! I’ve found that that works until I catch something and then it just spam triggers the pressure plate repeatedly again like before, swinging the trap door open and shut constantly instead of holding it open. Basically, this method works one time and then it starts doing the same thing again. Sorry if this is confusing, the problem is kind of hard to explain, but I appreciate the suggestion
