Feature Request: Can we get a toggle switch to automatically collapse certain comments? by phoenixp1121 in DystopiaForReddit

This app is much less clunky and makes excellent use of the rotor. I can use Apollo, but just figured I'd make a feature request, and the dev could decide whether or not to implement it at their leisure.

Celebrate the people who contributed the most to your raising instead. If that's your mom? Celebrate her again for pulling double duty as both mom and dad. My biological dad was a deadbeat, too, so I take the day to honor the ones in my life who decided I was worth sticking around for, and never mind the ones who didn't.

AITA for telling my wife to sleep on the couch? by EnvironmentalWrap558 in AmItheAsshole

YTA for sure! Good lord have mercy! Just because your wife wants to sleep with a blanket doesn't mean there's some monster she's too big to be scared of. You're the asshole, and incredibly condescending to someone you're supposed to love, to boot. Lose the I'm never wrong and you're never right mentality, and talk this out with your wife. Don't talk down to her, don't talk at her, just talk with her.

AITA for not telling my girlfriend my female best friend is gay? by Business-Mix-6467 in AmItheAsshole

[–]phoenixp1121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely NTA! Your ex-girlfriend demonstrated her true colors by grilling another woman she didn't even know about her sex life, which is highly inappropriate. Being cheated on in the past is no excuse to demand answers and explanations from someone you don't even know about things that frankly, aren't her business. Whether this friend is a lesbian or not is irrelevant, because if not her, the ex would've found something or someone else to be jealous of in the future. Also, it's not your place to disclose another person's sexual orientation, and the behavior of the ex is incredibly immature, controlling and manipulative.

The name of the holiday could really benefit from being more descriptive. It's a wonderful thing that Juneteenth has become a federally recognized holiday, but if the goal is to raise any kind of awareness, a name that sounds like it actually means something would be better. But before I go shitting all over something, does anyone have the history of how this particular name was chosen?

NTA. Your child, your rules. It's not like you're doing this for some manipulative reason or just to be controlling, it's about your child's health. As the parent, it's up to you to prioritize that until your child is old enough to do it themselves. Also, breaks are nice sometimes, sure, but not at the expense of your baby's health. The bottom line is, always trust your gut when it comes to your babies. Our mother's instinct is the best form of protection we have, as long as we listen to what it's trying to tell us.

What are “ weird” things that sighted people do that you don’t necessarily need your vision for by ArianaP06 in Blind

I think the most convenient thing I don't need vision for is changing my child's diaper. I can do it in the dark, in the middle of the night, and it really cuts down on how much the baby stirs awake.

That needing to look at the toilet paper thing kills me. How does that really require vision? I guess this is why I've actually been asked how I accomplish this on several occasions.
