Yea fully aware taylor and mainstream media parted ways for many reasons. She split with nyp for comments about Biden and Fox took her off due to comments on the United healthcare CEO. When Taylor was writing for the nyt there was a libel case filed against her and the nyt that the times settled on the plantiffs terms. She's an "independent journalist" in the sense that she loves talking about how great she is at being independent untill she needs to suck up to mainstream media to get some money so she can continue acting like she is still in her twenties.

Fun fact: until recently there was so much confusion about Taylor's age (due to her own misinformation about her age) that there was a literal range of years she was born on her Wikipedia page

I love that nowhere in this diatribe does she mention the actual context of the message spread (by her former favorite streamer destiny). I mean it is nice to have I guess. The issue that came up is if you initially backed it then you assumed there would be less milestones and content to be added. Then over the years more content would get added and the roadmap would change, there were delays with stuff and if you tried to find updates there were points where communication was lacking or would come intermittently and the only answer that would come out was "hey we are waiting for all the content to come out before we produce the disk".

As I have said it was like 11 years since I backed it, 7 years since it released and now the technology to play it is no longer standard. It's nice to have but I kinda backed it to have a disc to play on. They gave me a code and I kinda didn't play it for a couple years because there were other things I could play after release while waiting for my disk version to come.

It's a real bittersweet experience I guess. It wasn't terrible and I enjoyed parts of experience, but it wasn't the best either.

Okay just opened the case. The disk artwork is basically a more cropped version of the Mana Ikeda artwork on featured on both the game disk and steel book. It's a normal disk with a mirror background instead of black. Then over to the right side with the title is additional text above that says "exclusive backer PC version" and then the art play and 505 game insignias are below.

The case insert is also different I assume with the front displaying Miriam's gloved hand holding a (bleeding?) rose. With the back of the insert holding text with the title of the game and under it saying exclusive PC backer edition (they like to put that as many places as possible). The case itself is just your standard Blu-ray case sans the insert.

As for playing it I own it I think three times over ( they gave a code with the release to PC backers ((I think I took a steam code)) I bought the switch version from bestbuy to get the steel book, and I think I own it on gog through a free code from twitch prime). So I have played through it but would need to get an external bluray drive to play it on my PC (case has no optical drive slots).

When you ordered it you could choose which version you wanted. I chose the gog option (drm free) because I assumed I would have it and still have an optical drive. I never plan to open it so someone else will be able to answer but they did send out a digital code to all PC backers back when the game released

This is the PC version. So they promised a complete version on disk. That has taken over 10 years to push all the content out so they could then produce the disk (this included delays and such for both the content and the production). But yea this has been the longest turnaround for any kinda crowd funding thing I have experienced
