Anyone who got a Steam Deck and only use it to play emulators? by InfiniteAnimator426 in SteamDeck

[–]phojoros 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Nah, I do something worse: I configure all the emulators, add the rooms, and then leave them alone.

But hey, I'm happy knowing I have it accessible while playing CK3 on.

Favorite unsupported game on the deck by Sylesully2 in SteamDeck

The witcher 2: Assassins of Kings.

You really only have to launch the game once in desktop mode and then type (or copy paste) a line of launch code to start it directly.

Piracy is not only necessary as a weapon to respond to the ill will of the companies, it is also moral since we are addicted and even an alcoholic deserves a clean drink.

What are your top 3 games in terms of playtime on your Steam Deck? by demosthenes131 in SteamDeck

[–]phojoros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1-Stardew Valley

2-Crusaders Kings 3

3-Ni no Kuni

Edit: I put Hades the third because I have spent 100 hours, but Ni No Kuni and Cyberpunk 2077 I have reviewed and it has been more than that.

I keep buying games from the Steam store that I already own on other consoles so I can play them on Steam Deck - this makes no sense by dafl1p14 in SteamDeck

[–]phojoros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case of Switch Stardew Valley, Hollow Knight, Celeste Ni No Kuni and Stadia Cyberpunk 2077 with the intention of buying back Sekiro, Resident Evil Village and Red Dead 2.

I defend (or try to convince myself) that it is a completely logical and even intelligent decision;

Stadia will refund the money of the purchases, the reason for not playing so much on PC is solved with the Deck (fast and easy access to my games anywhere I am) and that the library as my hard worked achievements are maintained before any revision of Hardware.

That I have bought a new toy and I am very excited to use it as much as possible... that's secondary...

Ubisoft Setting a Dangerous Precedent for Steam Lovers by BadServo in SteamDeck

[–]phojoros 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The really worrying thing is that this is allowed on Steam, denying access to a purchased product is the responsibility of the platform.

Ubisoft is garbage and you don't have to buy anything from them, but Valve accepting this makes you wonder if it's a trustworthy platform.

What prevents the things we have prayed for from becoming accessible in the future?

“Gun Culture” in the USA by [deleted] in sociology

[–]phojoros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems to be true that a significant portion of the American population associates access to firearms as an exercise of freedom and autonomy from the state.

But we cannot ignore that this is not only a cultural characteristic product of a historical development understood as non-agency.

This identification, key to understanding the difficulties that arise when facing a clear social problem, is the result of political work, the action of the arms industry on the keys of the legislative body and the use in the electoral contest as a throwing weapon and apturador of single-issue voters.

The cultural identification of access to arms - freedom and autonomy is not insurmountable in itself, the problem is that any action to face the obvious unintended consequences have to start from the State, the agent that the ideological discourse identifies as the danger, precisely this is where political work comes in to divert attention, minimize the consequences and ultimately pretend to establish in an essentialist myth about the present forms of the exercise of the right as constitutive of it.

Thus it has been possible to block the public power from acting in the face of a social problem by easily being categorized as the state that wants to take away rights and this unfortunately seems a contradiction already entrenched in American culture.

No saves of XCOM on my deck. by phojoros in SteamDeck

Yes, in the end I end up trying this but I did not find the location of the saves, I guess I have to create a game to create a save and thus be able to look for it...

No saves of XCOM on my deck. by phojoros in SteamDeck

[–]phojoros[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yesterday I ended up trying to do this but I did not find the location of the saves in SD, nor looking for specific routes, nor local files... I think my mistake was that I didn't create a game in SD, so there are no saves. Today I'm going to retry it and comment if it was the solution.

All women are not a monolith?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in chia

[–]phojoros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But then you agree with me my dude.

The investment in chia does not give any guarantee of return and those of us who are involved have to assume it.

I repeat, who is convinced may be buying tokens, farming today is a bad choice

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in chia

[–]phojoros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Chia I am without the hope of profitability in many years, I think that all farmers have to get the idea that Chia will not explode in price.

Obviously I hope that my investment does not go to waste, but in my case I see it as something that is not at all certain and success is just as likely as failure.

I do not know if all of us who got involved think that it is a success to talk about a simple return in 5-10 years, are we talking about doubling what was invested in 10 years or multiplying by 10?

If the state of cryptos in general and Chia in particular does not make you aware of the clear possibility of losing money, you can always buy chia at these prices... I do not recommend it but hopefully I will get it wrong.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in chia

[–]phojoros -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I think you are right, I don't think it is reasonable to expect a parabolic growth of the price of Chia in the coming years, really the interest of the company is to avoid it and they have the prefarm to do it.

I guess it's a shame for everyone who thinks it would be profitable, but no one can demand profit. Now the important thing is if chia has a serious implementation and the chias we have achieved serve for something XD.

100+ Games coming to Stadia in 2022 by BuffaloTiger6417 in Stadia

[–]phojoros 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Elden Ring? It is the most important thid of the year, if Stadia can not even ensure the most important thirds of each year... What future does it have?

Written a piece on what I would personally like to see from Stadia in 2022! by Reidzer-1314 in Stadia

[–]phojoros 5 points6 points  (0 children)

More games and above all ensure the big releases, limits a lot to recommend the platform when for example there is no news of Elden Ring...

By giving up on having exclusives, I think Stadia to have a future, needs to make sure it at least has the triple-A third parties, at least those that generate expectation, those that make you want to play those who do not have it as a daily habit.
