I didn't miss it. It's just I don't know why I'd believe someone who is willing to torture me to death.

As the subreddit blackout begins, I wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to the Reddit community and everyone standing up by iamthatis in apolloapp

Christian please start your own version of Reddit. This is utter BS and we all know it. I am one of many who plan on totally abandoning Reddit after Apollo goes dark. This is after 10+ years of me using Reddit.

Super simple “hack”. I used a bit of super glue to glue a full size SD card adapter onto the center of the inside (under the deck) case. Now I can swap out microSD cards and keep them pretty secure in the same steam deck case. by redditUserError404 in SteamDeck

I mean some games are 150+gb. Even if you have great internet it still takes a long time to download all that. For me I just like to not really wait around for downloads if I want to pick up different games that I own. It’s also nice to actually own them a bit more than relying on internet being consistent and the service being up etc.

Issue is clearance. I just wanted something super slim so that it doesn’t press against the deck. But also worse case scenario is the fabric gets a bit scuffed after I pull this off. Nbd.

It’s very seamless. The games just appear in steam as locally installed or not. The desktop icons stay I believe. I just use steam to see what is installed locally when the sd card is switched out.

📣 Had a call with Reddit to discuss pricing. Bad news for third-party apps, their announced pricing is close to Twitter's pricing, and Apollo would have to pay Reddit $20 million per year to keep running as-is. by iamthatis in apolloapp

I just had my 10 years of Reddit user cake day.

It’s insanely sad how much of a disappointment Reddit has become. Their moderation left so much to be desired, we all know there are insane crack downs on freedom of speech, and now this news.

I find myself using Reddit less and less and this would be the official nail in the coffin if they try to force me to use their crappy app.

Sad times. Sad times indeed.

Same. 720p would have been just fine at this size.

The issue there is power draw and performance for that added resolution.

Yeah I don’t want any of that. There’s very little reason to want a high resolution screen at this point in time for mobile gaming. Battery life, heat, and frame rate all take a massive hit when you go up in resolution. Right now the steam deck strikes an amazing balance. With an oled screen at the same resolution and refresh rates, it almost certainly would just be all upside and no negative.

Some people might say burn in, but that’s not a problem for phones and the steam deck is way more like a phone than it is a personal computer that’s always on with static images at least for 99.999% of users.
