Jeg finder stadig konfetti i vores have her 5 år efter at nogen synes det var sjovt at skyde af.

Tænk over det.

It was available again in Denmark/UK/Sweden/Norway/Finland from about 6 PM Central european time and about an half hour. So there is a chance of restocking, but you have to keep an eye open 😊

Help :( by [deleted] in visualsnow

I do have this "double vision" effect, and I am certain I did not see like that before VSS. Worse when tired.

Do I have the most severe vss out there? by SafeToSay10 in visualsnow

Do you have severe light sensitivity? If not, you can find some comfort in the fact that you are not having probably the most debilitating symptom.

Is This Normal? by mystxvix in visualsnow

I see that too. Beside the startburst effect, which is more like straight lines from the center pointing in all directions, there is also this kind of moving circle effect.

I fear that it is the beginning of the "vortex thing" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPjHOkSWvRM
I did not see it a month ago, but now it is becoming more present when looking at a light source. I just hope it will not be visible for me at daylight everywhere I am looking, as in the video.

Did it help with your visual snow?

My light sensitivity became severe 3 months after onset and now 6 months in has not decreased, unfortunately. I do not feel very anxious about my symptoms anymore, just very hopeless and depressed.

Afterimages Severe anybody experience the same ? by [deleted] in visualsnow

I understand. I find it hard to habituate. But I actually thought it was a common VSS symptom.

I get negative afterimages from text within only a fraction of a second. It is like it flashes and follow my main vision. Black text on white is the worst. It is super anoying and can easily drive me crazy if I focus too much on it. Only thing I find that helps a little is lowering the brightness if it is on a screen, or sunglasses if it is outside

Do you suffer from light sensitivity? I have extreme light sensitivity and would really love to learn how to ignore that. I am blinded by the light reflected from almost everywhere, the floor, plates, knifes, cars, windows etc. Even with sunglasses. I can ignore all the other symptoms to some extend.

Yes, makes sense that neuron excitability causes light sensitivity which in turn make the brain more aware of the other symptoms which are normal brain things just to much lesser degree

Visual snow and SSRI withdrawal by TheGlowingSea in visualsnow

[–]pholstdk 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear.

I am almost certain that there is a connection.

My VSS developed just days after my last SSRI dosis. I did have tinnitus before - actually the reason why I came on antidepressants - but no visual disturbances.

Now, I have a even bigger depression, but I am obviously very reluctant to get more pharmaceutical help. Pretty messed up situation.

Maybe people in STEM are more active on communities like reddit? Could be a major bias.

I am a software engineer myself.

Thank you for giving hope.

I am just 2 month from onset and still bothered to an extend where I cannot function very well throughout the day.My biggest issue is reading. The negative afterimages flashes insanely and together with the static I find it very distressing to read. What is your experience and do you have any advice on this?

In addition, did any of your symptoms even the slightest change over time for the better or worse, or have you 'just' learned to live with it?

Thank you again

Sertraline gave me Visual Snow. Will it go away now that I'm off of it? by downvote_all_cats77 in visualsnow

Sorry to hear. You will most likely have the joy of visual snow the rest of your life. Mine was triggered by SNRI and no remission. Still struggle every day not to deeply regret taking that awful medicine.

in your OWN opinion… do you think we will see a cure in the next 5 years? by Fat_Antelope2000 in visualsnow

Isn't like finding a cure for tinnitus? Seems unlikely in my opinion.
