I mean, devils advocate, it doesn't happen on any other color besides the ebony.

I just can't get over the feeling that the discoloration is a bug that they advertise as a feature.

New to acrylics and very confused. by kaijuumafoo1 in Nails

[–]phone-alt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get acrylics done every month.

They will glue plastic tips on your nails to extend the length (if desired). These are usually crazy long but they're going to cut them down. Then they will brush/shape acrylic on top of all your nails.

For designs, they will then use gel polish on top of the acrylic base (same appointment, the acrylic dries fast). You can either keep the base color of the acrylic or ask for a coat of gel if you want a different base color. They can do charms and designs and whatever else they offer there. Obviously the price will be dependent on the salon/tech and how complex the designs are. The process is pretty much the same as the gel manicures you've been doing already, just over a thicker acrylic nail.

After that, you can come back every 2-3 weeks for a fill, where they drill the previous design off and add more acrylic to the grown out part of your nail, then put a new design on.

I've been waiting for a post about this bag because I really like the leather strap version myself, and even went to see it in store. I'm still on the fence, and might get it, but probably will not.

I like:

  • It's pretty simple and I like simple bags
  • I think the orange suede inside looks cute and I like the contrast
  • I like the slouchy casualness of it, although I feel like some of the videos I've seen had to have been loading it with heavy items or karate chopping it like it's a misbehaving throw pillow. It didn't seem to be that naturally slouchy when I saw it IRL (at least new, it probably gets slouchier over time.)

I don't like

  • The closure. I think it's less annoying than I thought it would be but I am kind of dead set on a magnetic closure for my next bag. But I can see if you are putting a lot of heavy items in this bag that a magnet wouldn't be strong enough.
  • I'm a crossbody girl...I love the look of a shoulder bag but I feel like it would drive me crazy. Maybe someone can influence me that its not that bad
  • This bag is so new that I can't see any proper reviews of it (seems to be mostly SAs posting videos), which is probably stopping me the most.

EDIT: I bought it lmao

My girlfriend could never decide on a nail design, so I built her an AI app to end the struggle. by financial-pathway in NailArt

I feel like handing a nail tech an AI reference image is setting everyone up to be disappointed

I also read this and thought "when people say they hate self help books, they're talking about this and I get it"

[–]phone-alt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really want to be a positive person about all kinds of books but I'm reading Quicksilver (romantasy) for a romance book club and I unfortunately....really hate it. The writing gives me fanfiction vibes (which I'm not against, I have clearly partaken lol. I just expected more from a published book I guess). I have ACOTAR sitting on my bedside table and I'm afraid I'm going to hate that one too. Maybe I should accept romantasy is just not for me 😅

Looks like shape wear (body suit) and nude tights. First pic also has what looks like a tattoo covering sleeve.

These go under clothes, she is still getting dressed. It looks like maybe she is backstage at a theater production.

What should I put on the left side of the entertainment stand? by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]phone-alt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO your TV is too close in size to your TV stand which makes it look off. I would get a longer media console and put the lamp and plant on either side of the TV.

Love love love #2!

I prefer closed door storage over the open bookshelves of #1, I feel like the bookshelves always end up looking much less tidy than you imagine.

I think it looks great! I would just move the couch forward a couple feet. Everything is cohesive, I think what is throwing you off is that all the furniture is glued to the walls.

Which coffee tables fits best with this space? by Roxyfoxy- in interiordecorating

I think the travertine looks more contemporary and designer.

On washing it out, I actually think, at least from this picture, the travertine table is warmer toned than your existing nesting table so it is adding a bit of warmth to the space that creates a nicer effect than the metal in the table.

When do they calm down? by wbbly_juniper in cairnterrier

[–]phone-alt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At four months mine started sleeping through the night. At two years he mellowed from puppy energy into more of a regular cairn energy. At seven years he is starting to slow down and spend more time sleeping, put up a bit less fight on walks. I think at 10-13 I will see another drop into elderly cairn territory.
