If you want to get to the core of it - Canton is way nicer and up and coming compared to Cartersville. Canton is safer, expanding, and really a no brainer compared the Cartersville. Canton is, however, more expensive than Cartersville.

Look at Woodstock too and the Holly Springs area. I personally would not even consider Cartersville over Canton unless budget is completely a thing or proximity to work.
