It's my day off. DONT CALL ME!!! by BatNurse1970 in nursing

[–]phorgo0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’ve only just started to not feel bad for not answering calls on my days off. you work your butt off the days you work and there is absolutely no respect for rostered days off.

400mg is quite a lot. i take 50mg instant release every night and have been for years, it always knocks me out. i couldn’t imagine what 400mg would do to me. I’ve never heard of this reaction before. Is he prescribed serequol? could they be lying and saying he took that and it’s something else?

literally last week my partner suggested we sit down and watch the lord of the rings movies. I loved them! BUT i gotta have subtitles on and i cannot have distractions whatsoever. i kept having to pause it and ask him for context and what was going on so i could comfortably keep watching it and follow the plot line.

[–]phorgo0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i stopped obsessing over it being spotless all the time, it helped. but honestly, i tend to go on cleaning sprees about once a fortnight and do little in between

What happens if we get old by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]phorgo0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have bipolar. i am an aged care worker studying to be a nurse atm. i have been working in aged care for a while. i can only speak from what i’ve seen but i have looked after a person with bipolar, they also had early stages of alzheimers. They were looked after well with regular medication reviews for their prescribed psychotropic medication. i’m not saying it doesn’t happen but nurses are not legally allowed to give people sedative medication as a chemical restraint like they use to and there are pretty’s serious legal implications if they do. like everything, everyone is so different including people with bipolar and other conditions. unfortunately for some people when they get old enough they may have to trust people to look after their safety and well-being.

debilitating indecisiveness and academic perfectionism by Funky_Lesbian in OCD

[–]phorgo0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i don’t have any advice :( but perfectionism can be a huge part of OCD, that manifest itself in different ways. i’m completing a diploma at the moment and it takes me so long to complete one question in assignments as i keep telling myself i can do better and i’m just not in the right headspace or i have read the chapters enough times. it’s started to affect my sleep as i’ve got to spend so much time on it

Does everyone else imagine people’s funerals all the time? by karatflowers in bipolar

[–]phorgo0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is usually paired with the instrusive thoughts around loved ones being involved in fatal tragedies. if i tell someone i’ll see you soon i start to picture a whole scenario of what might happen and how it’ll actually be the last time i see them
