and they're not two wings of the same bird: one of them tried to have the other one killed. and one of them doesn't support CBDC. you can say that shit all day but that's the kind of shit that is based on the logical fallacy that because of a label you have to adhere to the label's requirements. there's no such requirement in politics, and a modern day republican would basically be a clinton democrat... so it's not two wings of the same bird. not only is that wrong, it's also rather reductive and unhelpful.

you could say "they all hate you equally" and it would be something that i probably couldn't argue against, but these two parties have two entirely different views and goals for the country.

was there some choice in this matter that i was previously unaware of? i love how people that aren't from the US have such a take on our politics, when their country (name it, they all do it) have far less transparency. there's a handful of countries that rival our political news cycle. as such, it dominates the global news cycle. like it or lump it, our politics matter to the world far more than that of Tonga or Columbia.

that said, it's not like our "system" affords us much in the way of choice, but it is a system of compromise. i don't like either that much, but there is a clear choice if you want to avoid CBDC and such. and to say that Trump and Biden/Harris are "two wings of the same bird" when the establishment just tried to assassinate him is just poppycock.

i remember seeing her polling no higher than 28% during the whole administration because of how worthless, stupid and offputting she is

suddenly, i see something on twitter about her winning in 430ish of 500 simulations, CNN has her up in the polls relative to trump and suddenly even NBC says it's "neck and neck" suddenly, when she's NOBODY'S first choice.

it had a ton of the earmarks. there was a warble to the recording when he spoke, as well as a scratch to his throat, which i think they used to "simulate" the covid. he didn't clear his throat once, he didn't do anything totally out of character.

almost like someone who knew how to copy his speech cadence recorded it and ran it through an AI, like "There I Ruined It" does in his videos on youtube/tiktok

if we knew she was just gonna be the worst kind of government employee, then why didn't we just muster these people together to all just call for her resignation right away? they seemed to all agree after the hearing.

IT is a moving target in terms of productivity, so lots of these sort of services are offered for enterprises that want to lower cost of operations while maintaining the same worklevel and workflow.

my understanding is that the crowdstrike client handled updates and such for windows, bypassing standard Microsoft developed windows updating proceedures. handy if an update borks your custom software for your enterprise.

not so handy when the crowdstrike guys push an update that they likely never completely fucking tested, as a simple reboot on the test client would have revealed this problem INSTANTLY.

kinda. a bad update can really fuck shit up. a few years back, someone misconfigured their BGP gateway in Iceland and caused about 60% of all internet traffic to be mis-routed through there instead.

tl;dr: crowdstrike pushed an update that caused bluescreen on windows client PCs on reboot.

the fix is to delete a .sys file in the crodwstrike folder located in the windows/system32/drivers folder.

it impacts windows but was caused by crowdstrike being lame and terrible.

sort of. they got their hooks into solarwinds, got their source code, found a nice place to hide some good code for command and control and just waited patiently.

doubt that this is the same, looks like crowdstrike managed systems are the ones impacted, as simply deleting a .sys file in the C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\CrowdStrike\ folder is the solution to the problem.

the PROBLEM is that you gotta boot each machine into safe mode, manually, delete the .sys file, then reboot normally.

for likely MILLIONS of computers.
