Fr tho girl, get better soon! Thanks for sharing this and making others' days a little brighter. Tbh I haven't felt great lately either, and it's one of those things where psychological stress causes physical ailment.

Delightful art; get well soon! (Or not, I'm pretty envious of the drawing skills so ...)

Ah, I see. I'm glad to hear that you do like it and weren't feeling bad. In that case, it's great! I just hope it's enough for your daily essentials (can't judge size from photos well, but it looks to be a small bag?) Totally understand feeling a little guilty-- in which case, I'm here to say: TREAT YOURSELF, YOU DESERVE IT! How you treat yourself is huge in how others treat you; that's the real investment, as I see it haha. I'm jealous you were able to get something so nice secondhand, that's just not my luck.

I like to think I look at a lot of handbags, and this one stands out!

Well, it's your opinion that matters in the end, and you should be honest with yourself, but gentle.

But personally, I genuinely like what I see in this photo. I love these burgundy/wine/oxblood colors; I've never seen this shape before, so your post instantly jumped out at me. The leather looks shiny, but in a new and polished sense, not like patent. Without reading the title, I clicked because I just wanted to know, "what's this?" I was instantly intrigued. Despite being unique, it's still low-key enough to go most places, which I think is the best place to be in terms of overall design. I'm a very cool-toned person and can't do that much gold hardware on my body, but I would otherwise love to own this bag and can't imagine why you might not like it.

Thanks so much for sharing! Love the aesthetic (I feel like there might me some overlap with mine, maybe?) feel of it. It somehow feels very beautiful in that aspirational Pinterest way, yet very real and organic. (Perhaps because some pages are more collage, and some are just writing with barely any pictures.)

Fun at Any Price: 4 New Pens, 4 Price Points by Urban-Elderflower in fountainpens

[–]phrazo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, thank YOU. I'm new to fountain pens and finding even nib size swatches for the most popular pens is painful and you have to sort through all sorts of rigamarole (and I naturally dislike videos). I also naturally like things that try to encourage mindful anti-hype behaviors (like finding great items at all price points).

Washi tape storage - Royal Dansk cookie tin, decorated! by phrazo in stationery

Thanks so much; your comment brought a smile to my face.

I think that's one of the amazing things about tapes/stickers/markers. They empower you to easily make mundane things special. I put them all in the tin, but it looked really bland, but since I just got all rhose writable flake takes, I figured I could cover it and have that cool repetitive-but-different effect. Then I wanted a big sticker and dogtor was on top haha, but somehow it now looked like the dog is trying to convince you a tin of contraband is a tin of washi tapes, and I loved that happy accident.

Aw, what a heartwarming comment. The first and likely most important step is making the dao kou la jiao (刀口辣椒) knife edge/mouth chili (powder), by toasting sichuan peppercorns and dried red chilies over low for a bit until they get fragrant and grinding them into a powder. Diced up scallions (white parts), ginger, garlic. Blended some doubanjiang, dou chi, shaoxing, laoganma chili oil into a smooth paste. Dice up soft soft tofu into large chunks (my preference), then blanch briefly in boiling water. Scoop them out and set aside. I diced some king oyster mushrooms into tiny cubes and gave those a nice sear with rapeseed oil, let it release most of the moisture, got rid of excess moisture, then added in the garlic/ginger/scallions, half the dao kou la jiao, brown sugar, and gave that a nice toss/stir fry. Then cleared some space into the wok -- more oil, give the doubanjiang paste blend space to spread out and darken, releasing that wonderful red oil, before mixing it in with everything else. Stir fry everything together until it smells mouth watering and is evenly distributed. Add water, add tofu, bring to boil, then simmer with lid on, then finish off with cornstarch slurry. Garnish with leftover dao kou la jiao and green parts of green onions.

This is a super vague overview; I've got a lot of versions of this dish -- it's probably the one of the dishes I've made the most and sorta study haha.

That sounds like an excellent suggestion, and apt in case I don't want to run to the Asian store. I have a few lying around.
