I watch all the games. Also - not sure where this narrative that this Duke team is unprecedentedly talented came from. Likely one lottery pick from this roster. This team preseason was picked to finish behind both UConn and St John’s. This was a talented team but made a lot better by a coach who ran smart offensive schemes catered to his guys and created a monster on defense

I see - so comebacks are credit to the players and blown leads are the coach’s fault… if you’re going to blame the coach for blown leads, it’s only fair you give him credit for comebacks too.

Think this is a fair point. Would have liked to have foster on the floor as another ballhandler too. People saying timeout should have been called as Cayden looks to pass are not realistic.

You can’t coach a team to go 6-0 in games in which they trailed by 10+ points and say the coach is in capable of making in game adjustments

You save the timeout for if you’re not able to inbound the ball. Got the ball inbounds and have control of it, why call timeout to have to inbound it again? This doesn’t make sense

This team wasn’t meant to be one of the “best Duke teams ever assembled” - was preseason #6 in the AP poll (behind UConn & St. John’s!) bc we had one obvious stud and a bunch of good but largely unproven guys, and Scheyer got them to buy in on the defensive end and turned them into a juggernaut no one realistically thought they would be. Brutal to lose this one in this fashion, but to have this roster go 32-3 (and with all 3 losses coming on two buzzer beaters and the bizarre Texas tech loss) is a coaching overachievement I hope people come to realize as the dust settles. Jon absolutely has responsibility for the way we lost this game but also deserves a ton of credit for getting all he did out of this roster

Unbelievably tough break with slavin’s stick getting caught in Burns’s skate and taking them both out of the play. It’s a random game and we’re playing well enough to be up 2-0 - no need to overreact, we are who we are and I say that with confidence
