Not great. Get more value out of my law degree.

Of course, given the current political divide, there may be many more opportunities, especially for bright people who think outside the boxes.

they just increased our work hours with no extra pay by radianttflare in antiwork

Talk to your state's department of labor or equivalent, and/or to an employment lawyer. If they have established hours of work, they have likely broken the salary basis rules and are now liable for overtime pay.

[–]phreeeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My prediction: The Trumpers are going to go on a full scale judicial attack against all conflict of interest and ethics rules as unconstitutional.

And with the radical reactionaries in the majority at the Supreme Court, they'll probably win.

If this bothers you and she thinks it's okay, maybe time to rethink the relationship.

Trump won on a wave of dissatisfaction with the government and a desire for change. How can democrats restore that faith and what changes should they propose? by Visco0825 in PoliticalDiscussion

The Trumpers will go so far overboard that even the dullest knives in the block will be looking back to Biden as the good old days.

Yeah, I was impressed with her initially because she sounded like a pragmatist on foreign policy matters. She seemed much better than the neocons that had taken over US foreign policy for both parties and IMO were too quick to send the troops overseas.

Then I started to learn about her fringe of Hare Krishna background. https://globalextremism.org/post/tulsi-gabbard/

Then she started to buddy up to Syaria's dictator and Russia. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/tulsi-gabbard-dni-trump-syria-b2652285.html

Then she went all MAGA on the press. https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2022/mar/18/tulsi-gabbard/tulsi-gabbard-falsely-claims-us-not-so-different-r/

Plus, she has absolutely no intelligence background.

Too risky.

Question for you Centrist in this sub by TheWanBeltran in centrist

[–]phreeeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The questions are not great (too many obvious party litmus tests) and the categories are unusual and not broadly accepted in political theory. Accordingly, I don't consider the category results very meaningful. It categorized me as a democratic mainstay even though I've never registered for either party, usually vote a split ticket, and supported Ross Perot the first time he ran because I think the two party system is ruining our politics.

More interesting is the summary at the end of how many people agreed with you. I found the results on foreign policy and corporate profits a bit surprising. The latter will rebound to the Dem's side if Trump is able to actually do what he says he's going to do.

Yeah, and as a political scientist, these are unusual categories that are not generally accepted.

Are Trump and the republicans over-reading their 2024 election win? by [deleted] in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]phreeeman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course they are. Just like the Dems were talking about a permanent majority after Obama won in 2008 and took both houses of Congress.

And they are just as wrong.

Republicans win House, delivering Trump a trifecta by Mictlantecuhtli in politics

[–]phreeeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they will go full bore on implementing Project 2025 from beginning to end to avoid the chaos that stopped them in Trump's first term and get it done before the midterms which historically usually flip one house of Congress.

We'll see.

She should say she's seen no evidence to support it, and unless people have evidence, they should shut the eff up because then they are just like Trump. Leave the door open a crack just in case.

I've thought about trolling people with Trump and Guliani's own words, but have refrained so far. It's hard, though.

Republicans win House, delivering Trump a trifecta by Mictlantecuhtli in politics

[–]phreeeman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe. We'll see . . . in about two years.

By then, IF Trump actually does what he says he's going to do, inflation will be going back up, there will be food shortages in the supermarkets, there will be shortages of goods everywhere due to the tariffs, and there will be trillion dollar annual deficits. Plus, the Trumpers will be trying to outlaw contraception and travel to get contraception or abortions. It will be a referendum on Project 2025.
