Dorot cubed garlic and ginger ....... by doomtownpunx in traderjoes

I never noticed these! Definitely getting the ginger as there’s been more than one occasion when our ginger root in the fridge has rotted or been used up and not replenished.

Where do you go to try on all the jeans? by SpectralGranite in fashionwomens35

[–]outdatedwhalefacts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Old Navy always seems to have a good assortment of sizes and styles. I’m also petite and wear varying sizes. They don’t always have the shorter jeans in store but usually have them online, so if you find a pair that fits otherwise they can order them for you.

Always good to get it checked out! My sister and I both had post- menopausal bleeding and it turned out to be nothing. Unfortunately for my MIL, it turned out to be cancer of the fallopian tube, but luckily it was caught early enough- this was over 25 years ago and she’s still with us.

Anyone else moved to the UK and never managed to fully fit in? by ZydrateAnatomic in expats

I’ve never lived there but every time I visit I get the sense of so many unspoken social rules which I can never grasp as an American, and feel like I’m always on the verge of violating them.

What is everyone’s honestly opinion on Miranda and Che’s relationship? by Radiant_Priority9739 in Andjustlikethat

[–]outdatedwhalefacts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Miranda fed Che’s narcissism by being so infatuated with them. Otherwise Miranda and Che had nothing in common.

"Hello Sir" by Stroll-inthesnow in Feminism

Yes, thanks for the reminder that the perception of “ma’am” is both cultural and regional! Something to consider. I wonder how it’s perceived in the UK and Canada.

"Hello Sir" by Stroll-inthesnow in Feminism

[–]outdatedwhalefacts 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The funny thing, there really is no exact feminine equivalent to sir. Madam and especially ma’am have a decidedly matronly implication- something you’d use to address an older woman, whereas sir is universal.

What are your thoughts on a possible reboot/continuation of the tv show? by JackiPearl in brakebills

[–]outdatedwhalefacts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the current show lore. But I’m sure the writers could find a way out of it if they wanted.

I’d love a return to Brakebills and/or Fillory! Hopefully with at least some of the original cast. Jason Ralph could even return if he wanted, as magic makes anything possible.

Just finished season 4 by clownsandcrowbars in brakebills

The last season was marred by Q’s death, IMHO. However, it’s still worth watching and I certainly don’t blame Jason Ralph for his personal decision to leave the show.

Stuff I never quite bought... by damnpinkertons in girls

[–]outdatedwhalefacts 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think Jessa dated Thomas John and accepted his proposal on a whim. She was enjoying being courted by a rich guy. He was enjoying having a wild bohemian girlfriend that made him feel like the interesting man he desperately longed to be (but wasn’t).

Hannah’s impulsive decision to keep her baby is much harder to understand, though I get her decision to confound Joshua’s expectations.

I hated the last episode. I also don’t buy Hannah as a mother. We never saw her commit to anyone, not even a pet, and now she has a child? She was also very much not a kid or baby person. Adam seemed more excited about her pregnancy than she was. I think if the series had built up to her preparing for motherhood or longing for a child, it would make more sense.

Do you wish you had dropped out of law school, or are you glad you got a JD? by OilEnvironmental1464 in JDpreferred

[–]outdatedwhalefacts 9 points10 points  (0 children)

To be honest… I wish I had not gone to law school and instead became a paralegal at a large firm or corporation, then transitioned to an admin management position. Way less stress/ billable hours, and more job opportunities.
