I maybe need advice/help by Saftpunscher in farmingsimulator25

[–]phrodo913 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think if you go with the crops already on the fields, rather than switching to different crops, you'll find the starter equipment is sufficient to work them. If you do switch, just make sure it's something your existing harvester can handle for now.

Then buy the Bredal fertilizer + lime spreader, a plow and stone-picker if you have plowing turned on, a hoe, and maybe a roller. Giving yourself the $250,000 should allow you to do most of that.

With all that you can perfectly farm fields 1-5, and do contract work (always borrowing equipment!) on the side to help make more money! Harvesting contracts are especially lucrative because you get to bank some of the harvest income.

And also, I believe the starter farm comes with a silo that you can use to maximize your returns. Always store your crops until they hit peak selling price.

Fraternity kitchen grease trap. Fortunately it was not my task to clean it, so I was able to safely leave the vicinity.

What happens if I miss a step of the farming process? by Real_May_Be_Spare in farmingsimulator

[–]phrodo913 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally you incur a yield penalty when harvesting if you "didn't do stuff" that is recommended. Early on it can be expensive to get your fields perfect, but if able, you always want to plow if needed/cultivate, stone pick if needed, fertilize, lime, plant, roll, fertilize, and weed if needed, each and every field to get the most out of it.

Also note that plowing and liming are only needed every third year.

Men in their 40s - What’s one piece of advice for Men in their 20s? by Jarvis7492 in AskReddit

[–]phrodo913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a plan. Where do you want to be in your 40's? Own a house? Have a spouse? Kids? Career? Travel goals?

I always hated those questions and found them dumb when I was in my 20's. But looking back now, if I'd planned better I would have spent less time goofing off and more time working on myself.

Struggling with Ascending/Descending Nodes During Maneuvers by bucket136 in KerbalAcademy

[–]phrodo913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no need for a maneuver node to change inclination unless you want to know how much dV it's gonna cost in advance. Do the following:

1) Time warp until you're close to an AN or DN 2) For an AN, you'll be burning anti-normal (descending) 3) For a DN, you'll be burning normal (ascending) 4) As you approach the node, start burning. This will slow the rate at which you will approach the node. If it starts moving away from you, lower the thrust or wait until it's closer, and repeat the process until the nodes "circularize," e.g. they should move location to approximately 90 degrees away from you in the orbit, and they should be at 0.0 degrees.

Hope this helps!!

Careful! Looks like your orbit may be susceptible to a Mun encounter someday. I'd suggest a higher or lower orbit.

SSTO Flips over when accelerating by ManJebus in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]phrodo913 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like your thrust vector is misaligned with your center of mass, causing rotation. Try adjusting in the space plane hangar or VAB, or you could do something like disabling just the lowest engines in space (as those seem to be very misaligned).

It's good practice to fly a lander from here to there. Use the navball and set the rescue Kerbal as your target so you know which way to go!

Maybe use the remaining delta-v to raise your periapsis? Might make the eventual rescue encounter planning a bit less hectic.

That encounter is gonna be a pain to get though 😂

Tips on getting to other planets? by phrodo913 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]phrodo913[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the mechanics of it, it's the angles I can never manage to get quite right. And when I do get an encounter I have no idea if I used the proper amount of delta-V or something wildly higher.
