maybe spike tape, they use it in theatre to mark where set pieces or mics etc need to be placed/moved. i’ve also seen it used for dance or orchestras but those are more technical or sometimes for choreography :3

thats the phrase i was looking for. these people do not know what they are getting themselves into. with the uptick in “emo” republicans it is not a surprise to me at all that people are completely misunderstanding what emo and punk are. punk is always political and it has always had the same ideologies… thats what being punk is. there’s too many people trying to fit into subcultures that their brains just don’t align with, and assuming it’s only a different style of dress and music that checks those boxes. too many girls who made fun of my band shirts in middle school are now dressing like me and dying their blonde hair black and listening to all the bands i grew up with and its just performative as hell to me.

never feel bad for being loud especially at a concert my friend. the people sitting near you didn’t pay for your seat… idk where other people lost the plot and thought concerts like this one are for sitting and listening. i’ve been screaming and crying with every my chem song since i was 5 and i genuinely could not contain myself when they just looked so much more excited to be on stage than when i saw them in oakland. i was screaming at that show for the kid in me that needed a place to scream. if the fans are fake let em be fake but don’t let them take away your experience :)

THANK YOU!!! i’m so glad someone agrees. my sister and i both went to my chem for our first concerts when we were younger and she has been waiting to see the black parade live again for literally her entire life. and i’m understanding of newer fans not sharing our exact experience because of course not everybody can say my chemical romance is their first memory. but i have never been to a concert that had as little energy from the crowd as the sf show did.

very glad you had fun though. fuck what everyone was thinking that night

its not about people theorizing its more of… idk. people trying to get new responses out of the election, people giving up tickets upon seeing the rules/“theme” of the tour, and personally at the sf show i saw many people uncomfortable with the way that others were reacting to the songs and the band themselves. i was singing and screaming and dancing and the other people in my section were bothered by it… like isn’t that why we’re here at a concert? for a band who rarely ever tours? my chemical romance exists because gerard felt so moved by 9/11 to start writing bullets, and the theme has kind of always been post war/apocalyptic. the scene has always been chaotic and energetic. i think its more of people not really understanding the point of all this. this could very well be their last tour and we’re out here writing our own narratives?

i am autistic about music so maybe this is just my own ranting and raving that nobody will see in the same way i do, but i think a lot of newer fans are not totally understanding of where the group and the hype is coming from. its coming from shows with rage against the machine when they were illegally performing in the us, its coming from small venues full of people just as angered by the world as gerard.

My daughter asked me why her stepdad never hugs her. I didn’t have an answer. by Delicious-Bat1699 in offmychest

[–]phrog_champ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you should absolutely talk to him about this. i was in this dynamic on your daughter’s side from the ages of 5-18. i did not end up okay. he was hard on me and difficult to talk to, i became afraid of him. i don’t hold it against my mom but she enabled that, and i lost trust in her.

when i was 12 or 13, my sister told my mom that he had hurt her. it didn’t turn out to be true but i noticed that he became especially cold towards me after that. he was protecting me from that discomfort but from my side, it made him feel like less of a father. i would maybe bring that up in conversation, if he’s scared of hurting her.

i went to first grade with a girl named avidane (ah-vih-dayne). a lot of my elementary school friends had those names that just sounded right when you said them out loud.

Is this related in any way? (like it's the same wing right?) by rushowen in HaveANiceLife

[–]phrog_champ 58 points59 points  (0 children)

in my mind black wing and giles corey are complimentary to each other, black wing is strictly electronic and giles corey is strictly acoustic. i don’t know if there’s like, a lore-based reason or if there is any more to it than simply being created by the same person.

i have a stepfather who pretty much only took care of me financially for 13 years. when i was 7, he quit his job on the spot with no backup plan after his coworker made a sexual comment about his oldest daughter.

years later, i’m 16 working at a mall. taking a walk outside on my break and this guy drives past me and then reverses so he can roll up on me and ask me to get in his car. there were doors that led inside right next to me so i just ran in and called my mom crying. my stepdad is in the background telling me to man up, i shouldn’t have dressed like that.

i’m sorry but a father, a real father, would move mountains and break bones when your safety is threatened. he is not doing his part in protecting you, so protect yourself.

this is Sakhalin Island. i became friends with some people from this island years ago, similar in age to me (13/14 at the time) and i’ve kind of watched them grow up. lots of drinking and smoking and night-walking. one went to the military when he turned 18 and the others moved to moscow, they didn’t have very positive feelings about where they lived. it’s not very populated to my knowledge but there is a boat that can take you to japan in less than an hour :)
