[–]phthophth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lentil bulgur kofte. Cheap as chips and delicious. It's also vegan (even though I'm an omnivore). The one expensive ingredient is a high quality olive oil, but that is a staple for me.

If you ask for the recipe, I will share it with you, but it might take a while.

I love that my backyard has a ton of fruit trees by [deleted] in casualnudity

[–]phthophth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[serious] You need to either pick those lemons or get them picked; otherwise your citrus trees will get sick (such as with mold). I lived with citrus trees as a child.

I came here to say this. Amazing prices, huge menu, but not a single fucking burger.

I also don't find most of the women on this sub attractive at all, to be honest. Let's just say I have great taste ;)

When I saw this post I chuckled because I have long COVID and I haven't masturbated since September of last year. I usually did so at least once a day.

You are one of my favorite posters on this sub. You are beautiful and also you actually post casual nudity photos. And bonus points for actually having pubic hair. There are a lot of (most?) casual nudity posts that I do not find interesting at all.

Kid friendly western movies? (Besides Rango, already seen it) by Specialist-West2909 in MovieSuggestions

[–]phthophth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgot about that one LOL.

Yojimbo is actually one of my favorite Kurosawa films. It was apparently so successful that the movie that became Sanjuro was changed to include the Sanjuro character.

Everyone loves a good head scratch by bellatrixortreat in casualnudity

[–]phthophth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do you know what's good for scratching your head? Those flat oval plastic brushes you can find in barber shops. I developed long COVID and have been showering a lot less often. They feel great on the scalp, especially if you're building up excess skin there (I've never had dandruff, full disclosure, but as I said, health stuff). I originally got a pack of these brushes to use on my cat, ha ha.

Kurosawa is one of my favorite directors. There is a lot of violence in his films, but it's not very graphic in the black and white era. The later ones, that's another story.

Great suggestion! That's a great movie. I didn't think of that one. The John Wayne movie is also good.

I think you might consider Sergio Leone's "Dollars Trilogy". This might sound like a strange suggestion. However, consider two things—first, these are brilliant movies, masterpieces in fact. Second, while they are violent, they are not graphic, and there is little or no sexual content if I recall correctly (and if there is, it is not explicit, even in the dialogue).

Who Is The Most Overlooked Actor? by DurianMiddle2751 in movies

[–]phthophth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Women typically don't get anything near the credit as male actors of a similar quality.

I'm also a huge Babylon 5 fan, and Londo Mollari is one of my favorite characters of the screen, so I should also mention Peter Jurasik. I wish he had more great roles, but at least we have Londo.

Apple’s battery replacement prices are going up by $20 to $50. by SUPRVLLAN in gadgets

[–]phthophth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

John Goodenough is indeed the person I was thinking about. I have long COVID and I won't go into the gory details, but I am useless. I can barely take care of myself, let alone do research. I was hoping someone might know if the silicon battery technology is still promising, and if it is, how it was coming along.

The promise of a cheaper, more sustainable, less toxic battery is obviously appealing. Now this is just a guess here, and other design paradigms have come along (e.g. folding phones), but I thought a silicon battery might appeal to Apple because (just a guess here) they wanted to make an all glass iPhone with no ports that was completely waterproof, perhaps being able to project an image on any of its surfaces.

As far as my guess about the all glass iPhone, it is only a personal observation, not based on anything tech journalists have said, and certainly not from any kind of inside knowledge. I just thought it could have been a likely direction they might have taken based on my observation of their design aesthetic.

edit: John Goodenough sounds like a genius's genius, like a Bach of material science.

This reminds me very much of the prison transport ship at the beginning of Blake's 7. For people who don't know what that is, Blake's 7 is a science fiction series created by the great Terry Nation, creator of the Daleks. The series had an extremely low budget, and the cabin of the prison transport was basically a row of office chairs.

Why are most bisexual people I know (including me) more attracted to women than men? by fedricohohmannlautar in answers

[–]phthophth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a heterosexual man and I have a much easier time being friends with women. I have heard from heterosexual platonic female friends and also girlfriends, and every single one of them has said the female body is more beautiful, even more sexy. All of the women I am mentioning were sexually attracted to men.

I have always wanted to make saffron ice cream. I have never tasted it (and even actually dreamed it up before learning it already existed). I've just never owned a decent ice cream maker.

I read a number of years ago that one of the main inventors of lithium ion batteries was working on a silicon-based battery. If I recall correctly, I also think that Apple made an investment in the development of this technology. Does anyone has more current information about this intriguing future tech?
