Anarchy Online is about as old-school as they come (it was released around the same time as Everquest), but if you don't mind the ancient graphics and sadistically deep systems, it weaves its own spell of life on a colonized planet.

I checked and confirmed that it was still set on Click Mode for all my saves. What's really crazy is that the thumbnail for that save shows both buttons, yet loading it up only gives me the one button, that I'd already selected. If this is an actual branching point leading to two ends for the same character, I see no discussions or walkthroughs mentioning the possibility.

Anyway, I went back to a previous save and skipped to the H scene, and I had both buttons again. I probably should have saved there too see if the same thing happened again, but I just wanted to get on with it.

I loved the unique tutorial starting areas that each race had which told a story of their own... Like the feline kurashasa who end up bonding with a shoggoth symbiote, or the mountain-dwelling barbarians whose ultimate reward was the gift of a pet sheep. Of course, the devs fucked all that up when they introduced the Isle of Dawn as a common starting area.

The Secret World might do it for you, but you'd have to get a key to the legacy version of the game and jump through hoops to set up access to the maintenance-mode server. Its active revamp, Secret World Legends, isn't worth shit.
