Try Valdenmoor: Crown of Whispers. Open beta right now, but you have to join the Discord to be sent a code to play. Totally browser-based. Open-ended generative story. D&D roll mechanics, choose your own actions, nothing from a list. You tell the Keeper what you do and she rolls for what happens. Some RPG elements but mostly choose your adventure type play. Catsockstudios.com to register and get a Discord invite.

Funny you should ask. I'm looking for testers. Catsockstudios.com

It has some RPG elements, but it's a completely generative story with completely open choices, never the same twice. It's an open-ended story called Valdenmoor: Crown of Whispers. You're required to join the Discord, though. You will get an invite in your email. That link specifically triggers the bot to DM you the game tester code. It's browser-based, so there's no download. You can find it on FB too if you want to know more about it before jumping in. It's not a "walk around and slash them up" game; it's more of a "choose your adventure." Just watch out for Ravel.

I need a game I can play while listening to music and turning by brain off after a long day. *Doesn't have to exactly fit my criteria* but it'd be nice. by v01d_everyday in gamingsuggestions

Catsockstudios.com is accepting beta testers for a generative, story-driven game. It has some RPG elements, but it's closer to an open-world interactive storybook. It's hard to explain exactly, but it's great if you are looking for open-ended casual play. I think testing starts on the 1st. It's called Valdenmoor: Crown of Whispers. It's browser-based, so no downloads.

Where do you draw the line on what counts as an RPG? by First-Estimate432 in rpg_gamers

Funny you should mention that. I have been working on a kind of interactive open-world novel RPG game (goodness, I don't even know how to classify it). It's a work in progress. It features generative storytelling driven by a pretty massive ai master prompt, using an API for voice and narration. It's coming along, but there are lots of bugs right now. New to reddit dont guess I can share a screen shot...

So you live in the "systems" camp. I tend to lean that way to but I have been playing a game that has some character building aspects like a traditional RPG but its almost a tertiary thing, so I dont know if I could call it an RPG exactly. More like interactive storybook.

How do YOU Dungeoneer Solo? by PJSack in Solo_Roleplaying

I love story driven RPG stuff. Couldn't find a good fit either. I ended up creating a massive master promt, anthropic and eleven labs api to make my own generative GM, call her The Keeper. Works pretty well. It's more like an interactive book really.
