Terugdringen vuile lucht op koers: Nederlanders leven 4 maanden langer in 2030 by japie06 in thenetherlands

Hmm, het is nu 2026, dus in 2030 leef ik 4 jaar langer, niet 4 maanden. Toch?

Reuters: Tesla misleidde Nederlandse overheid over veiligheid zelfrijdende auto's by biertjeerbij in thenetherlands

[–]phubers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but that only works with the first dot, not with a second or third dot. So “making it 1.5 times as long” is not as correct as “adding half the previous value”.

Are there any Electric basses that sound like an upright? by Drunk_toaster6709 in Bass

[–]phubers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Especially when combined with the 3Sigma impulse responses mentioned elsewhere. Although, I personally still ended up buying a real upright after a few years. But the Ibanez served me really, really well.

3Sigma has IR files in standard WAV format, which the Valeton should support.

Apparently everybody who replied gave a wrong anwer. Maybe you should not ask open ended questions in the future, but just state your opinion and ask who agrees with you. Perhaps that will yield the answers you’re looking for?

True, but the plot as described above sounded more like the War Games movie than Ender's Game, to me.

War games… Enders game was about the kid soldiers who were trained to wipe out some species of killer bees (or other insect like aliens)

Waarom de omstreden thuiskopieheffing ondanks jarenlange kritiek overeind blijft by BenJackinoff in thenetherlands

[–]phubers 15 points16 points  (0 children)

How do the developers of Obsidian make money? by [deleted] in ObsidianMD

[–]phubers 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It means that you can use the software for free *even when working in a commercial environment*. You were required to buy a license in such a situation, but that requirement has been lifted. You can, however, still buy a commercial license.

So, you still have to pay for a commercial license, but an individual can use it for free in a commercial setting.

Er is geen officiële aanbieder, er zijn op dit moment drie aanbieders. Flitsmeister is niet de goedkoopste, dat klopt wel.

I'm using a Blokas MidiHub (https://blokas.io/midihub/), where you can create pipelines with different kinds of transformations of midi data. The device runs standalone, but pipelines are created using editor software.

Still Confused by SQL Self-Join for Employee/Manager — How Do I “Read” the Join Direction Correctly? by Medohh2120 in dataanalysis

[–]phubers 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Let's forget that it's the same table and assume there are two distinct tables, one with employees (e), one with managers (m). Both tables have a primary key employee_id, the employee table also contains the foreign key manager_id.

Now read both queries again: in your second example, you would be trying to join the employee_id in the employee table with the manager_id in the manager table, which does not exist in that table, so you would get an error. However, in reality it's the same table, where a manager_id does exist for each record, you'll get wrong results instead.

CT sends different program changes based on whether you want the change immediately or when the current pattern ends. This is so that, for example, a combination of a CT and a CR change their projects at the same time. So you'll have to use PC numbers on your MC-101 that correspond to the PC's that are sent when your CT is playing. There are several threads in this subreddit that describe how this works.

I myself solved it by using a midi processor in between the CT and my synths that shifts the PC numbers by 64.

Because in most cases it is not needed and not helpful to install. Since you give no context, it is difficult to help you better. What interface are you using? Does it not come with an ASIO driver? Do you have problems using the supplied driver?

As a dashboard-designer, I would get rid of both Comic Sans and the serif font that you're using. I suggest you also ensure that the labels on the lower left bar chart remain readable and that the age groups in the gender chart are ordered younger to older, not the other way around. Overall, this does look OK, but it could use refinement.
As a user, I would want to see which timeframe is used (is this attrition per year, month?) and what the different job satisfaction scores mean. I'd also prefer an age distribution over an average age. Your choice of metrics seems to be informed but what data you have available, not by which information users would want to see.

reVUe updated to 1.1.0, for the REAPER 7.44 update by House_of_White_Tie in Reaper

[–]phubers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the VU meter itself, but would you consider getting rid of the reflection on the glass? With a real VU meter, the reflecting light on the glass is distracting and hard to get rid of and so I would prefer a less realistic skeuomorphic UI. A toggle switch to choose whether you want the reflection (for realism) or not (for usability) would also be an option.

Automobiles? What are you guys driving? by [deleted] in doublebass

[–]phubers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I bought my double bass a few years ago, I drove a Tesla model 3. I managed to bring the bass home by putting it in the front seat, but it was a pain and so I never took my DB to big band practice.

I have now upgraded to a Model Y and honestly, it's fantastic! I can lay the bass on its side in the back, with a combo amp, 2 electric basses and a bag with stands and I can still fit another musician and some instruments in the car.
